Is there going to be a listing for Turner entries. I would like to know who will be in the 14u 90 lbs. Or are the brackets going to be combined?

This tournament was very poor, the worst run all year. This split tournament had wrestlers still going after 630.Why did they keep the tableworkers on mat 3,every match had something scored wrong.Somebody should of stepped in on this table.Good luck on results.

I would certainly disagree .... but, everyone is entitled to their opinion ...... My experience this Saturday was a positive one mainly because I met so many great people (parents, fans, coaches) and had the opportunity to see many great young wrestlers ..... most tournaments have glitches but we all try to work through them ...... we all worked very hard to set up and conduct the tourney ....... my thanks to all who volunteered their time and to the coaches, families and wrestlers who participated in our event ...... hope to see you next year and, of course, we will work to make the tournament bigger and better in 2008

Maybe I was a little harsh,But parents and coaches sign up for tournaments to how good the previous year was.I thought this was at the high school, the same thing with the tornado tournament, maybe we should look at the flyer more closely and not assume.

10U 73 was the very, very last match of the evening. It was 7:35pm when we got in the car to go home. Because of no Fri. weigh-ins -wrestlers had to be there at 11 am and session II did not start until 3pm and if you had a bye it was after 4pm before you wrestled your first match and walking out at 7:30pm made for a emotional and physical exhausting day and night.I feel sorry for kids and coaches who had to be there for am session. Maybe next year tthey should consider having the tournament in a hotel banquet facility so we can nap, watch TV or sit at the bar.
It was a very frustrating day to say the least.

How did this bracket turn out? My son was sick and would have been in this age/weight group

Thanks Superior Steve for trying to see the bighter side of this event. I'm sure many lessons were learned by this years event. Thanks to those who tried to make the best of it. Lesssons learned: Split formats aren't always the best, Friday night weigh ins are a must, Schedule around the availability of the High School, utilize those who have expereince running this type of event, and remember you never have enough volunteers. On a positive not: Everone loves Chris Cakes, and the Champions who received free shirts were very appreciative.

i agree all boys!!! the t shirts was a awsome idea but the bathrooms stunk really bad!!! also i think that the middle school just wasn't the place for the tournament. You know how the high school boys were running weigh ins? well they were in there playing on the scales and also there was a kid with 4 ring worms!!! the ref din't see it until his second match! with the no friday night weigh ins it killed some people if they were close to weight. and could you of amagined if it wouldn't of been spilt!! there was no room in the bleachers in the AM let alone with the AM and the others!!! so deffenetly not the best tournament ive been to but it was really really close to the worst or Possibly the worst so lets have a better tournament next year.

Hopefuly i din't affend anyone

I thought It went ok but then again I would have liked to have had trash cans avaliable in the gym to make it easier to throw things away so that way it don't become so filled with trash in the bleachers. Many people left their trash in the stands instead of leaving the gym and losing their seats. I also couldn't Always read what matches that they were on because of the dry erase boards(Bad Idea). I know you don't want to many people on the gym floor, But how else are we able to see the match numbers. If you are going to use dry erase boards people use large marker style not thin pen. Other than that I enjoyed myself.

I would like to say that I think that the morning session ran smooth, I know that the afternoon sessions are usually long and exhausting. Thanks to Turner Kids Club for all their hard work, the T-shirts for first place are great and much appreciated. I do agree with the post from "all boys" that split session are not always a good thing and that Friday night weigh-ins are a must. I would also like to see the 14 and under kids wrestling on a full mat, I know space is always an issue but these kids are too big to be wrestling on a half mat-just my thoughts.

We were in the 14&u morning session.I thought it ran pretty well. I think that if you have a ref on a mat who incourages the table to keep things moving it helps. I noticed mat 6 had a pretty fast paced ref and it showed 2 hours into the tournament when mat 6 with 1 1/2 min. periods, was 15 matches ahead of the little guys who have 1 min. periods. The 14&u competition was some of the best weve had all year.

I thought it ran very smooth. Having matches in 2 gyms though was very hard on clubs that only had only 1 or 2 coaches present. Cause 2 kids could be wrestling in the main gym and then another kid could be up at the same time in the smaller gym. We ran across this problem

I can't say it was ran smooth and yes the day was long, but when I had two wrestlers not in Brackets and when the 10u 76 bracket was robbed do to 3 scratches and I asked to have it turned to a 5 man round robin my requests were granted and any tourney that starts with the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer is alright in my book

Yes, some of the complaints are right. But, the medals were great, the t-shirts were a nice touch and the hospitality room was excellent. And, finally, the people from Turner were nice. Their tournament the year before went much smoother. Hopefully they get back to the high school next year. And, this year there have been a lot of scratches probably due to illness and weather. Hard for a tournament to prepare for. Our club didn't have a tournament this year, so how can we complain much. But, one thing. I hate splits - it was the only way for Mill Valley to work with so many kids, but if not necessary, I do not like them.
