BROOKINGS, S.D. – The South Dakota State wrestling had its intrasquad wrestle-off matches this afternoon at Frost Arena and the Blue team defeated the Yellow team 21-12.

Head coach Jason Liles and assistant coach Chad Lamer coached the Yellow squad and assistant coaches Matt Sedivy and Nate Hansen coached the Blue squad.

There were ten total matches. The Blue team won six matches and the Yellow team won four.

Sean Flynn led the Blue team with two wins. He defeated Nick Genereux 13-3 for a major decision and defeated Marc Wermersen 6-4.

Alan Marvin, Nick Kulseth, D.W. Bradshaw and Stratton Havlik also secured victories for the Blue squad. Ryan Meyer, Derek Pirner, Jared Aesoph and assistant coach Chad Lamer had the wins for the Yellow team.

The Jackrabbits will host the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open on Nov. 3 at Frost Arena. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
