Just wanted to give a big shout out to the Lansing Lions in winning their second consectutive Kaw Valley League Dual Tournament! Also, want to congratulate Sante Fe Trail on their match with Lansing in the finals.

The dual was one of the best I have had the pleasure of watching in a long time. Final score was 36-36 with Lansing winning the dual because of 1 more pin.

To the Lions.....

You all wrestled very well and showed a lot of heart and character. You should all be very proud of yourselves. I know all of us in the stands are very proud of you guys.

Keep up the great work!

Coach Budke

I love the local press! They won their final dual on criteria yet the headline says they "dominated their opponents." I do not want to discredit a great accomplishment by a young team, but that headline just made me chuckle! Anyway, it sounds like Lansing has some solid kids who did dominate at their weight.

Lansing won with 7 freshmen in their lineup and without state runner up Dennis Wood who was hurt! Many of the freshman have far more kids level experience than your typical freshman but still freshman. They will take some lumps this year, but the next several years look pretty promising.

How bad is Wood injured? How long is he going to be out?
