Many kids wrestle in OK, MO, NE, and CO to get in several more matches before the KS season starts. Kids that wrestled both days in the Park Hill, MO Duals could have gotten up to 10 matches in that weekend.

I understand that but I know for a fact that their are some records that are false. Some kids have only wrestled 1 or 2 tourny's and I know it wasnt the duels. Some wrestled their first tourny 2 weeks ago and now that have 10+ matches. We have been going since the first on Nov. and we have only wrestled 11 matches. I just find it ironic how all the sudden it comes to a seeding tourny and records are inflated and false.

I can't answer to that. I know it's possible to get alot of matches early, if or if not they have actually wrestled them is up to them.

Do you think that they are including their Freestyle record too? Many kids wrestle year round. Maybe they are not differentiating between the two styles. Just a thought....

They may also be including their middle school record.

I noticed there was one kid in the novice bracket that had placed third at a national tourny and several others that had very impressive records for being novice!

There will definately be some great matches.

I'm sure that these only represent the on-line entries. A lot of the OK clubs mailed in their entries and I know that several KS clubs do the same. Those entries aren't represented here.

FYI Schroeder - I hear you!

I copied this off of the Oklahoma forum and pasted it here. Carl Mize and his wife are the ones that put this thing together with help from others.

Folks , All the entries are not on the web. Just the ones that used paypal. It will be a while before we get them all on the web site. With Christmas coming my wife will take a break from the computer. And I'm not going to push her any. We have as many as last year it looks like but I don't have a final talley. We had 1850 last year.Any questions please e-mail me. camize@swbell.net. It may take a day to get back to you we have our work Christmas Party tonight.CArl

I thought the entries were posted awfully quick and wondered how they got that done!

Schroeder...easy answear...the records are exaggerated, and you'll know which ones are when they wrestle.

Yes, the listed entries are only the ones on-line. Jerry Scott said that most of the entries coming in are by mail, and the website will be updated with all the entries around Jan 1.

On the wrestling matches front, we started with Cliff keen, and have got 59 already by doing muliple states, entering 2 divisions, and sometimes even wrestling both Sat and Sun. Example, 3 weeks ago we double entered the Ted Anderson open in Edmond, and then double entered the tournament in Seneca, Mo and got 17 matches in one weekend. On Jan 26-27, we plan on hitting the Kansas Tournament of Champions in Salina on Sat., and then the McDonald County (Mo) Open on the 27th. We had 144 matches last year doing this. If we just stayed local (Dallas), we'd probably get about 30 a year.

people shouldn't worry about others they just need to show up and wrestle, records means nothing in oklahoma if your from kansas anyway.

Wow 144 matches...I thought I was pushing Jake too hard with 75 last YEAR, I guess I need to step it up instead of backing off.

I'm sorry I have to ask, what is meant by the above statement? I don't know if it's a slam to Kansas, Oklahoma or both.

we all know Oklahoma wrestlers will get the favorable seeds over kansas wrestlers when their records are close and the tournament is held in Oklahoma. Does this answer your question?

Chad,
I see that there are more entries, but it doesn't look like 2000 entries like Jerry posted on the OK forum. I think they may be gradually updating them. What do you think?

I am guessing that the open weights are done. It looks like they haven't started on the Novice yet. Trust me the 6U and 8U will dwarf the open division at these age groups.
