ready, GO! Hasn't Chief already done this with his end of the year, all class predictions? I'm not stirring up this 'hornet's nest'! I'm just going to say that ALL WRESTLERS ROCK. Weither they have a winning record or a losing record. A state title or (like me) wasn't talented enough to qualify for the state tourney. It takes a lot of you know what to get out on that mat -- one on one, with a crowd a watching - and take on another dude your size. So, big KUDOS to ALL THAT WRESTLE.

103-Jeff Vesta 6A 112-Tyler Strokes 5A 119-Jordan Keller 5A 125-John Keller 5A 130-Kendric Maple 6A 135-C.J Napier 4A 140-Tyler Caldwell 6A 145-Mitch Arnold 5A 152-Kyle Detmer 5A 160-Brandon Bonewell 6A 171-Scott Elliot 5A 189-Romero Cotton 5A 215-Joe Bach 5A 285-Atticus Disney 5A
I think if they kept scores by classification 5A would run away with the title. Just my Thoughts on how it would end up.

I think that Colt Rogers would give Keller a run for his money if not even beat him. I mean come on the kid hasn't lost a match in high school yet.

I don't think Colt could beat Keller. I saw both of them wrestle this year. Colt is just good on his feet. Plus if you saying undefeated, Yes that is damn good but Colt doesn't wrestle the competition like Bishop Carroll sees I think if he went to a Newton Tournament or a tournament around that toughness he would have some Losses. But they are both very good wrestlers though.

i think you'd have to throw cox in there as well. i've seen them all and i'm not sure who you'd give the edge to. and rogers is pretty tough on top when he needs to be. good tilt series. speaking of good on their feet, who'd u take rogers or slyter? (assuming same weight)

I take Rogers, he is just a man child for a kid his height. He has won both state titles by tech fall.

Malay - not bad, but.... No way on Vesta at 103 or Deshazer at 112 (he can only wrestle on his feet, saw average wrestles keep it very close with him at Newton) and most definitely Rogers at 125. Rogers was in danger in multiple matches this year. Trent Cox would handle him (IMO) easily so I'll let someone else decide between Cox and Keller, but it wouldnt be Rogers. Lastly, disagree with Thoman at 160, but would possibly be Marvio in a repeat to decide the champion! Do agree with you on 9 of 14 though so that is pretty good I would say! (Well, maybe 8 of 14 - Maple is for real as well.)
go hard or GO HOME!

Colt doesn't wrestle the competition like Bishop Carroll sees There are tons of tough wrestlers that Smith Center sees. And, you would expect that good coaches would find ways to beat him, maybe once. Putting some numbers to it ... 3-2-1A state 125 -- 8 former state placers and an average record of 23/7. 4A state 125 -- average record 25/9. 5A state 125 -- average record 20/10. 6A state 125 -- average record 24/11.

I think if they kept scores by classification 5A would run away with the title. It amazes me that 4A, 3A, 2A, and 1A do not have any good wrestlers yet the "Small Schools" are 3-0 against the "Big Schools" in the Senior Classic since the format was changed.

Wrestler selection plays the biggest role in that dual. If you just took the State Champion at each weight, that 3-0 streak would change pretty fast. At least with the runs that BC and Goddard are having.

[/quote] Well its not just the selections .. some wrestlers are asked and just plain don't want to wrestle in the dual. I was asked and declined the invitation, then showed up to watch and the 135lber for 6a didn't show up so they asked me again on the spot and I decided to fill the gap and wrestle. I believe they ask some of the best wrestlers to wrestle and some just straight decline the invite then the selectors work their way down the list. So I wouldn't say the selector is to blame.

I take Rogers, he is just a man child for a kid his height. He has won both state titles by tech fall. Rogers may be a man child, but that just doesn't do him enough justice. Sure the guy is strong and quick, but he also listens to his coaches and has learned how to wrestle like a college wrestler. If you put him in college competition right now (against men), the outcome of his matches wouldn't be a whole lot different. I wrestled in college, and I don't think I could beat him, even though I would have the "old-man strength" advantage.

Not that it really matter's, but I do believe that the "Big Schools" won it the first year they changed the format in 2005. And both teams were loaded with great wrestlers.
