Take it for what its’ worth…here are some of my favorite spots while you are in town. There are many others not mentioned here; Wanamaker has a lot of chain restaurants. Some have been built since many of you have been to town. My lists are in no particular order; all have good food and service. Some are you'll find in your home town(s) others are local favorites.

Hamburgers – The Pad, Sebrook Tavern, Mentzers, and Red Robbin

Steaks – Topeka Steakhouse, Blind Tiger Micro-Brewery, Puffy’s in Maple Hill, North Star, Outback Steakhouse, and Timberline.

BBQ – Boss Hogs, Grovers Smokehouse, Three Little Pigs, and Pats Pig

Mexican – Casa’s, El Mezcal, Quentzal, Rosa’s, Pepe & Chila’s and Carlos O’kelleys

Oriental – Panda Buffet, HuHot, KiKu, and Shoguns

Italian – Paisono’s and Olive Garden,

Ice Cream – Cold Stone Creamery

Sports Bars – Tailgaiters (smoke free), Buffalo Wildwings, Hooters, Skinnys, Reed's Ringside and The Goose II

There is a great Cabaret at the Topeka Civic Theater this weekend with dinner at 6 pm and show at 8pm both Friday and Saturday night. A movie theater on Wanamaker with Stadium seating is also available. There are three casinos within a 45 minute drive, dancing at the Electric Cowboy, and a large Mall on Wanamaker & downtown shops.

AND LOTS OF GOOD WRESTLING AT LANDON ARENA, I hope you enjoy your stay.

Thanks Mark. Restaurant advice from locals is very helpful.

Thanks again.

To all of you going to state make sure you secure your valuables while parked at the Expocenter and hotels. It seems you alwyas hear of numerous car break-ins when there is a big event in town.

BTW...I'm thinking Mark should rent out pieces of cardboard (sliding down the grass covered hills next to the building) as a fundraiser for the Jr Vikings.

I don't think I want the liability.

But that's really thinking outside box, inside the box, on top of the box, or off the box as chance may have it. \:\)

Just a note, there is a new bar and grill that opened up at 21st and Washburn called Henry T's. It is smoke free and very affordable food. Its a sports bar but well like and has kids menus. It is two blocks from the Expocentre.

Two things: Best sports bar in my opinion (lots and lots of tv's) is Jeremiah Bullfrog's live at Huntoon and Wanamaker. Best restaurant overall in Topeka is Brick Oven Courtyard Grille at 31st and Wanamaker. I'm a little biased as I'm part owner... But it is a high class place with great entrees and deserts (berries chocolate is every wife's favorite)

It's good to see the GM of the ExpoCentre on here. Welcome !
No Parking Fees this weekend, ..Yea !

Can your crews lighten up about the bag searches
& lower concessions ??

Then maybe we'll be able to keep your venue for the State Tourney.
