I cannot get pass the password id part i've been trying to put in my number from my card last year --- invalid; I then try to make a new account and go through all the registration stuff, a line comes up saying I'm alredy identuified, I enter the one that shows who i am right in front of me, then it gives me an entirely different number. I go back to scratch and enter that number and it is invalid again. I cannot get to the point where I can even take the background check to get to our club president who is out of town for a while. In short; I need this card I beleive to even coach my wrestlers who are registered for both the fall brawl, and pre nationals. I'm worried they will be coachless during these large tournaments. What do I do!

CJA - Pursuant to the 2006 state body decision, Kansas coaches cannot purchase USAW cards online. Their memberships must be purchased through their club; if for some reason the coach cannot purchase his/her card through a club, s/he should contact membership director Kathy Juby ( kathyjuby@usawks.com).

Mike, We have a high school senior who has already attended the bronze clinic and is planning on helping coach this year for his senior project. He can't send in his test until he has a coaches card. The problem is he is 17 years old and won't turn 18 until February. When I tried to do the background check it stops right before you create the account and asks you if the person is 18 years or older in order to accept the terms. Is there any way around this?

Individuals under the age of 18 do not have to undergo a background check to obtain a coaches card.

My understanding:
They will not be able to obtain a USA coaches card without passing the background. It is a liability to the individual clubs to allow coaching without a card.

If you have lived in other states or multiple counties then it seems to slow it down a little. Took me a couple of days.

Won't wash away the shame Trowbridge, but darn it, it got me thru the background check! I recommend Lava.

I understand why the screen is important but what about the future? how often will we have to renew? If we pass it once can you just do a KASPER search to save money? Not to sound like a cheapskate but 17$ is steep for an electronic yes!!!!!

how often will we have to renew? The background check is good for two years.

I have a coach that has problems getting signed in:
Here is his question. Can you please let me know what to tell him.
I can get on the website. But then I have to log in. So I don't know my password. So I type in my USA # and it says it is invalid. So I fill out a new registration form so I can start over. It says I already have an ID and password. So I cannot log in because I don't know my password and it won't give me another login and password because I already have one. So if they would allow me to do it I'd be happy to do the background check.

Every club was given instructions to pass on to their coaches. These instructions can also be found on this website (go to General Info and choose Instructions under State & National Forms - look for the instructions for coaches under the Register your Members section).
Tell your coach to be sure to follow these steps carefully. In particular, point out to him that he is dealing with two separate logins, one for USAW and another for TClogiQ. Each of these logins require a different username & password.
If the coach had a prior USAW membership, he already has a USAW ID# that he can use to log onto the USAW site at TheMat.com (step #2 in the instructions). If he doesn't know his USAW ID# & password, he should check with his club membership director - the spreadsheets that Kathy sent out to every club contains this information for every prior coach & wrestler.
