We can all speak freely around here. No sense in keeping secrets and wondering why the rankings aren't changed. My dish doesn't pick up those 321A tournaments.

Yeah, but your internet doesn't block the sites that the results are on.

ZING.

Hey Chief appreciate your efforts on the rankings. Couple of folks to consider...Zach Eaton (10) Bennington at 140 beat Jesse Gantz in OT this weekend at Remington. I believe he is 31-3. No idea who beat him. Cody Huffman (11) Douglass at 285 is 20 some and 3. Lost to Tank at August in OT and to the Andover C kid in a close one or over time at Douglass but pin him at Circle. Westy from Derby beat him 5-2 at Chanute. Not saying they should be in the Top 10, but should be in the discussion. Thanks!

You cant speak freely on here because if you do you get bashed. So I'll just go outside and take me a chew.

Salmans beat Keener 3-2, took 4 overtimes, at the Ellis regional.

Here is a post that I made a few weeks ago. It's great to see Trent back on the mat. He was off of the rankings while he wasn't wrestling and I added him back once he returned.

***Cox has not shown up for several tournaments in a row. I was sure looking forward to the Garden City 130 bracket and, no Cox. I was told by his coach that he was healthy the week before at BVNW, but no Cox there either. Can you name the quality wins he has this year? Cokeley wrestles every week as well as earning National honors in the summer. His only loss to a Kansas wrestler this year is to C.J. Napier in a close match in which he bumped up a weight just to challenge Napier.

I have not seen Trent Cox in any results since 12/20/08. He beat Trey Houlden and Biddle on 12/6. He lost 8-2 to Ramon Willis, the #2 ranked 130 pounder from Oklahoma on 12/13 and then was entered with a 0-0 record at Emporia on 12/20. I confirmed with his coach today that he will be wrestling this weekend at 130, so I added him back to the 6A ranking at #1. Based on this year's results, he is #2 All-Class.***

With a lack of head-to-head criteria, it is tough to rank elite wrestlers. At some point I have to include national criteria as well. This is in no way a slight to Trent, just a judgement call by the Chief. If you have any other input, I'd be glad to hear it.

I will try to have an All-Class update this week. This ranking is the toughest every year. Some changes have already been made but there are MANY considerations! Thanks for all of the PM's. I could sure use the input.

yeah, trent has had some misfortunes with illness and injury. however, if you watch these two wrestlers in action, you will have to agree that cox is many levels above cokeley. not to discredit cokeley, he is a great wrestler, but cox is far superior, period. yes it is a judgement call and i completely understand that. but, i find it very hard to believe that cokeley can beat trent. i talked to trent the week before garden. trent wanted to wrestle even with a broken jaw and his coaches didnt want him to. he knew how important it was to wrestle this tourney. just goes to show that more things are important than proving people wrong on the internet. will we ever know who will win on the mat? nope. so i guess we can talk about it on this forum.

thanks for all the time spent on making the rankings. it really is time well spent.

Ex Coach Gregg,

See your PM box

Since you guys are so tight bring him up to the barn ANYTIME. I think Trent is good and I think it would be a good match. This many levels and far superior are not things you say unless you are trying to discredit Ryne.

There are plenty of chances to know: Reno Worlds, Northwest FS/GR Regional, Manahattan FS/GR, Northern Plains FS/GR, State FS/GR, Southern Plains FS/GR, Fargo. I could care less about the ranking but until Trent puts forth an equal effort I don't think you should be jumping on here an spouting off. JMO

how can someone be many levels above a guy who won state his freshman year and his only 2 losses this year were to extremely great wrestlers. I can understand the "he might be a little bit better than cokeley" arguement, but to say many levels better. Wow!! Whatever your smokin i want some buddy.

We wouldn't even be having this arguement about if Cox or Cokeley were better if Cox had not moved or transferred to Maize. Wish Cox could have finished up at Andale just so this dumb arguement of this guy is better because of this or that.
