If you're looking 4 some good referee's. I highly recommend J. B. Harding and Derrick Schumacher. They're young and I was impressed by how they handle themselves and they're very good with the kids. They did a excellent job on mats 1 & 2 at the Hays tournament today. I've seen them at other tournaments this year and they do a very good job. I personally told them today thank you for what they do. (How many coaches actually walk up to a referee and tell them they're doing a great job. I try to every weekend.) We need these young men so our sport survives.(Even our veteran referee's) As coaches we need to tell these young men thank you for their services instead of yelling at them so we have them in the future for our sport.

Not sure who was all at the Wichita Classic, but on mats 4-7 this was some of the WORST refereing I've ever seen. IMOP, if your going to run a tourney of this calibur you don't bring in first time refs. 1 week from subs, where everyone is looking for the best seed they can get, and get screwed by a bad call, by an inexperienced ref is not right!!!! Wichita parks comission needs to look at this alot closer next year or the numbers will continue to drop...

AMEN here also, try mat 9. Seen alot of bad calls, and alot of injuries that could have been worse, and some that should have been stopped. maybe that is why we should stay to the smaller tournaments. Bringing in new ref's is hard on all,

Try working a table with those refs and two very experienced guys in each corner.
It crazy! They cant remember who they awarded points to or even what color they are trying to award points to.
Mat 3 was the worst!

Mat #18 wasn't any better, the large Ref wouldn't even get down on the mat, My son had a defense pen and everyone else saw it. After the match I confronted him, he said from where he was standing he didn't see it. A very slow and out of shape Ref. On a defense pen there is no counting and any part of shoulder blades are a pen, don't care what anybody say's. What made me happy is my son knew he tecnically won, but the numbers said different. He kept his cool.
I remember reading awhile back people complaining about ref's being shape. Well I really agree with, and they do not know everything.

Pfannesteil, Johnson and Roberts all did a great job at Hays as well. Didn't always agree with them but when ask about a call they explained it in a calm and professional manner. And for the most part if it was called one way one time it was called that way every time. And that's all you can ask for from an official.

Well you're just a special kind of stupid aren't you?

I watched a ref on mat ten (at Hays) continually not give out takedown points to several wrestlers. One wrestler in particular was a PWA kid.If his coach is on here I would like to say that he had every right to get upset about what was going on. This young man was robbed and suffered two losses beacuse of the ref. I wanted to find his coach and let him know that even from the stands you could see the injustice being done, but I never had the chance to talk to him. "Don't wory coach we all saw, and know who really won".
