Is it just me or does any one else think it"s a little rediculous having a quarter of mat at subs. It might be ok for little 6 yr olds but i think it's rediculous for the age groups & weights they had at windfield on quarter mats.

I think that whole tournament was rediculous. The mats were way to small, the tournament way to long, and the wait once you were done wrestling was way too long as well. We waited over an hour to get my son's medal and bracket, and that was after my husband went down and asked them nicely 3 times what the hold up was. I do believe we went through this same crap at their own tournament. They need to see how other towns run their tournaments and take notes! My son has been wrestling on half mats all year long and then we go to Districts to wrestling on a quarter mat? We haven't done that since we moved out of six and under. I think all of the kids and parents have that complaint. We also had a middle school kid with us that has been wrestling on a full mat all year and then gets stuck on a half mat - come on! I am not sure who picks where the District tournaments are held each year, but they need to take into consideration the size of location and the numbers at the tournaments. We were crammed in the seats, the announcer was telling people to get off the gym floor and sit in the bleachers, well - guess what - there was no room to sit - there were people sitting in the stairway as well. I could go on and on with complaints about this tournament.

District 1 tourney was well run (Good Job Mark!!)My son's medal was ready almost as soon as he made it to the room where they were handing them out. Really the only complaint was the people standing around the mats either watching or waiting for their kids to wrestle. I appreciate all of the hard work that the volunteers for Dist. 1 put into this tournament. Thanks!!

Dis.3 had the same small mats. At Subs we had more room. Plus there was a couple bad refs. Not saying names (#128) Needs to understand that it is a Dis. Championship not just a pay check! Hope we dont see #128 again.!!!!!

I would just like to "ditto" everything in Magpies post and also add that the concession stand needed several people taking money NOT just one person. That was just insane! We were there for 10 and 1/2 hours! I can not think of another sporting event (especially youth) that takes 10 and 1/2 hours! Can anyone answer the question; Why this tournament was not split?

D4 went smooth to the casual bystander. My wife said the trophies were handed out so quickly after match she didn't get there fast enough to take picture. Great job paul, GGl and all of d4.

I have to agree, our districts were not very welll organized. They should have done a split tourney. My son had to wait for over an hour for his medal, and that was towards the end of the tourney. Winfield is usually a really well tounament, but this year I was very disappointed. I hope if they do it again next year they do better!

hey at least your son didnt dominate a match against the number one seed and get screwed out of points that would have put him into the finals. instead we are sitting home after subs. watching districts knowing we probably would have placed at state had we had the chance to be there. thats just how it goes. refs are going to make bad calls and i have reffed before so i know its not easy but thats why i went to coaching. paybacks for all those coaches who yelled at me lol.
