No, district 1 is the only district that has those preparations! They are known to take extra qualifiers from time to time.

Is there a way they might extend weigh in times for people who it might take longer to get there due to this weather?

I'll play devils advocate for a minute, but at the seeding meeting for D1 the comments were made that this is Kansas and we all have access to news and weather. The thoughts were then that we as adults should be able to plan accordingly.

Like I said, just passing on the jest of the conversation. Whatever the conditions, please everyone be safe!

I think the State not postponing this tournament is terrible, What about those folks from Western Kansas, there are highways closed, and they lost a wrestler last weekend due to a car accident. This is about the kids and putting kids on the highways in this weather is wrong. It is not like it is only affecting one side of the state. The whole state is being affected by this storm. Lets just pray that everyone makes it safe to Topeka. PLEASE PLEASE drive safe and remember this tournament is not worth the risk, you have your whole life to be a State Champ!

bruster6, I have to agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments. The problem is too many people are too hard-headed and think this is the "end all be all" of their lives. The state needs to think this over. Think of the Siruta family, who went through the pain no family should have to ever go through, losing a 7-year old child.

There will be other state tournaments. The vast majority of these kids will be back next year, the year after that and well beyond.
