Is the high school division going to wrestle the high school wieghts or the kids wieghts. If they wrestle kids wieghts some of the matchups everyone has been hoping to see across all classes might not happen?

They are wrestling the kids weights. Even if they were wrestling High School weights, we would not see the match ups. Senior Nationals, Flow Nationals, and several other tournaments are that same weekend.

Thanks for the info, thought maybe we could see something close to grand state.

Are you sure about the weights being kids' weights? I thought the reason the Classic was doing HS weights was because the kids series was doing them? I think they were doing a 3 lb allowance, to try to keep the HS kids at the weights they wrestled in HS. From the Wichita Classic flyer:
"High School: 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189,
215, 245, 275 (+3 POUND GROWTH ALLOWANCE - HS ONLY)"

Looks like they added a 245.

This is said all without me doing any research, so maybe Richard can clarify it for us.

Doug

This rule seems like it will make the 14 and under weight class easier and smaller.

That was certainly a concern of some on another thread last fall and was discussed on here and at the state meeting.

There will be a few really good 14 year HS kids that move in that direction mainly in the lighter weights. Most 14 year
HS kids are not going to match up very well with junior and seniors that are close to the top of their game.
