Sunday Feb. 21st. We have chartered a bus headed for OSU in Stillwater OK. for a great day of college wrestling.

OSU VS OU

The cost is $30.00 per person. This includes the bus trip and the ticket into the dual. You will want to bring lunch money because we are stopping at Eskimo Joe's for lunch before the dual.

Bus loads at Bishop Carroll High School at 9:30am and departs at 10:00 am.

We should arrive in Stillwater around 12:00 to 12:30 for lunch and then over to the dual at approximately 1:30. The Dual starts at 2:00 pm. As soon as the dual is over we will load the bus and arrive home at approximately 6:30.

This is not a fundraiser. The price covers the cost of the bus and the tickets into the dual. We are just offering the opportunity for wrestling fans to see some great wrestling.

There are approximately 30 spaces left. All spaces must be filled by Wednesday evening. Unfortunately, if we cannot fill the bus, the trip will have to be canceled. If you are interested, please contact Jess or Tammy Keith no later than Wednesday evening at (316)721-4430.

Just a suggestion- I would try to call ahead for reservations - (if possible?)for Eskimo Joe's. They will not be able to accomidate a bus load at that time of day. Alternate food suggestion-the world famous Hide-a-way Pizza just around the block. Only trying to make the trip more enjoyable for you.

For those that have never been, this is one of the true TREATS in college athletics. "The Bedlam Series" has nothing whatever to do with basketball, football or any other sport. It is WRESTLING!!! It must have been about 1966 or so, when WKY took it upon themselves to send a black and white camera crew and televise (live) what the wrestling world knew was bedlam. I will NEVER forget that night. My father had absolutely no use for wrestling, he played basketball for a while in Norman, but you could feel the electricity thru the black and white screen and the old field house must have had 9,000 screaming fans in attendance.

The match went back and forth all nite......hysteria broke out every time someone flinched on the mat....when a point was scored, there was no hearing the announcers. By the time they were wrestling about 160, I had figured out what the hand signals meant, you simply could not hear the announcers.

Well, my Dad was with Phillips in those days and got tickets somehow for the return match. I have no idea who won the first one, but I think it was OSU something like 15-13. Anyway, Dad took me to Gallagher Hall......wow. I watched OU edge OSU en route to upsetting OSU for the Big VIII title, I think. All I really remember was screaming my fool head off and not being able to hear a single note of Boomer Sooner. That place was bedlam.

I really, really, really wish we could go with ya'll. I watched OU down Oreon State Sunday with Cap, that was kind of fun. Bedlam, however is worse than watching OU-Texas play football. OU doesn't have the inferiority complex they have in Stillwater and the pokes have a HUGE advantage in the duals. They really crow over it.........

I have my own stories, twice as good. Mike Sheets vs. Dave Shultz - Leroy Smith vs. Andre Metzgar words do not describe those experiances. The experiance will be great for your kids in the new "House of Horrors". Though not as good of atmosphere as the "old" house. (sitting on the floor /w knees touching mat -when a student)
Make sure you get to Heritage Hall portion of Gallagher. (I still refuse to add on Iba.) Most folks don't know 10% of OSU history. You will see all 49 national championships (34 wrestling) and Barry Sander's Heisman
Jess, please call the OSU wrestling office talk /w Brandy (Zack Espisito's wife) and they MAY arrange a tour or something for your group.

You may also want to call the Hall of Fame, it is right next door to Gallagher (I too refuse to add Iba) and well worth the visit. Enjoy, it should be a fun match to watch!
