Would Lucas Vincent be considered eligible to wrestle for Kansas in this event?

What about Josh Wilson at 285? The kid did place 3rd this weekend and I believe that Leavenworth is in the Metro area.

Vincent would be the best choice, and Kincaid is a good choice as well. Just thought I'd throw another name out there for you.

Second Lagoon. That is awesome! For those that don't know the Silver "Lake" is a huge overflow of the Ks. river. A mosquito breeding ground. Maybe Will would like to go camping there!

Kevin Taylor of Second Lagoon is only a junior, so you might want to find another wrestler for 125/132.

Why not Josh Hanson of Baldwin at 130... he took 3rd at a much tougher bracket than Erkers...

I couldnt agree with you more, Erker and the rest of the west wrestling team went to easy tourneys this season, that is why there records are looking good but Erker is no where close to Josh Hanson

With the 7 pound weight allowance I say you throw Hanson down to 125, Hood can probably make 130, Flora-Swick would be a better choice for 135, Weller at 140, Walker or Hiller at 145 or 152 and then the rest of the line up is pretty solid.

Yes, after Josh Hanson's incredible performance at state I would hate to see him be denied the chance to represent his state

OK........possible KS lineup v. official MO lineup....

103 - Boyer (36-3, 2nd) v. Ross (-,-,3,5)...Boyer by mdec
112 - Davis (33-8, 2nd) v. Welch (2,1,3,2)...Welch by dec
119 - LaMar (35-2, 2nd) v. Waters (1,1,1,1)...Waters by fall
125 - Sharp (39-10, 5th) v. Peters (-,2,-,2)...Peters by dec
130 - Erker (34-14, 6th) OR Hanson (43-9, 3rd) v. Courier (-,-,5,3)...Courier by dec.
135 - Hood (36-1, 2nd) v. Pierce (-,5,-,4)...Hood by mdec
140 - Jones (35-4, 6th) v. Marriott (4,4,2,1)...Marriott by mdec
145 - Weller (35-5, 3rd) v. Friedley (-,1,3,1)...Friedley by mdec
152 - Walker (44-1, 2nd) v. Breit (2,2,3,3)...Toss up. We might see Breit v. Hiller
152 - Hiller (34-8, 1st) v. Logsdon (4,-,-,4)...Hiller by a lot...mdec
160 - Curtis (31-6, 2nd) v. Lyman (6,2,5,1)...Lyman by dec
171 - Madl (46-0, 1st) v. Conner (1,2)...Madl by dec
189 - Blazevic (32-2, 6th) v. Eblen (4,2,1)...Eblen by dec
215 - Pearch (29-2, 3rd) v. Mellon (2,1,1,1)...Mellon by dec
HWT - Vincent (14-0, DNW) v. Everett (2)...if Vincent goes, he wins by fall

Assuming Vincent goes, I have the score 32-21 with MO winning (not including the Breit v. Walker/Hiller toss-up match)

Why Vincent????

As I understand, he elected not to wrestle this year, and did not have enough mat time after he did start wrestling, to get to state. Let someone who has been there all year have the spot. Getting to wrestle the METRO is a great reward for those who have sweated, put in their efforts, and achieved a status for the sport.

I think there are a few others that will be wrestling...as I know of two that are attending practices in KC but not on your list.
Kane Lovvorn, Holton
and Brett LaMar, Silverlake

If LaMar only gives up 4 points and Walker beat Breit, we have a 27-24 final. Then inject the "Kansas kids are tougher" factor and we have another Kansas win to tie the series!

I have let all the trash talk about him not wrestling go on long enough without responding. Let me ask you this, as an adult, have you not ever made a decision you thought was the best for yourself or your family then come to realize it may not have been the best decision? If you are honest you will say yes as will everyone. Lucas was a 16 year old kid who thought graduating at semester and getting a jump start on his football career was what was best for him. After a few weeks of his senior year, he decided not to graduate early and stay his whole senior year. During football season he suffered many injuries and decided to not wrestle and let the injuries heal. In December he was contacted that he was selected to play in an All American Bowl over New Years. He went to the doctor, got the ok to play and played. Upon returning the end of the first week of January from Myrtle Beach, Lucas talked about returning to wrestling since he was able to compete in football with little pain. But do to some ill feelings between he and his coach he wasn't sure how he would be recieved. He attended the Bob Cat and watched his former team mates compete. He realized how much he missed the sport of wrestling and it was such a part of his life since he was 9 years old and went to talk to his former coach. After being back for a couple of week it came to our attention that he may not be eligible for post season. It was determined he wasn’t and Lucas still wrestled out through league knowing he could not go any further. He was crushed after his last match of Sunflower League, where he pinned all 3 opponents in a total of 167 seconds, where he was named Outstanding Wrestler.
Lucas has been fortunate to have great success wrestling and loves the sport. For those who say he doesn’t deserve to wrestle because he made his choice I think is being a little hard on a kid who made a decision he realized was a mistake. But then again, you may be perfect.

When will the "official" KS lineup be announced?

Weller is really light. If Hood is at 135 then Weller should be at 140. He makes 147 easy and could make 142.

Decisions, decsions, decisions. We all make them all the time. Some good and some bad. Does not negate the fact a lot of kids have been on the mats since last fall. They too earned the right to go to the METRO. Lucas should take his lesson from his decisions rather than his dad, or someones dad, enabling him. He should have his name withdrawn--a good decision--and let a current year wtrestler have the slot---someone who earned it this year-on the mats this year-this year at the state tournament. Don't punish another kid for Lucas' mistake (decision)! To me that is an easy concept to understand!
