it's not an attack its a disagreement between two people. You can have your opinion as well. I' not attacking any coaches or teams just stating some facts. I ask an honest question, and all I want is an honest answer. It don't have to be politically correct, or even correct for that matter, just want to know how or why.

No, this is Luke Bean who plans on moving up to 215.

so i take it that luke will have half his weigh-ins at 215?

How do you do your team rankings? Only 2 teams on your list beat Norton at TOC which is Clay Center and Derby. Heights, and G.C. both had the opportunity to prove who was a better team at TOC, and both failed.. Give credit where its due and move them up, likewise Wichita Heights is overrated. You have to finish a tournament to help your team even when you lose in the semis.

Come on Lyle rankings are just an opinion, and here is mine. We went into that tournament banged up so we weren't at our best! When 2 of your studs that score alot of points for you are missing that is hard to overcome. I give credit where credit is due, hats off to Norton, but to say they are a better team then us when we are at full strength, I don't know. I also know they have some kids missing, McKenna is the biggest one that comes to mind but we do as well, Anguiano. Rankings are for debate and I will also debate you that Heights is not over rated, they have a nice team. I guess we will see who the best team in 6A is in a few weeks. Hard to believe the season is almost over..

Thank you! I'll take that answer. I still feel putting Heights at number one after losing to 8 other Kansas teams only leaves room for a lot of opinions.

Hey Doug, I will agree with you. They base the rankings based upon the facts that they know and predictions of future matches. If they don't rank my kid or our team where I think they should, then oh well. We will find out on Feb. 25-26!!

You had to bring that up didn't you. My car has 250K plus and my "check engine" light came on today on my way back home from Ft Leavenworth. Currently, I am a little more concerned about my car than what other people think about what our team or my son is ranked. Financially, if our team or my son drops in the rankings, it probably won't cost me as much.

Sure Doug, rub it in that youre in better shape that me: 169K on my Tahoe, 162K on my wife's van (with a "check engine" light on also Lee), but it doesnt matter Doug, remember... Cokely promised me a new car. smile See you this weekend.

Because I can't rank Tulsa Union #1. Read my post on the previous page. To summarize, Derby and Garden City beat Norton at Newton. Heights (at full strength and without a DQ) beat Derby and Garden City at Derby.

You better clarify what "new" means, in Cokeley's eyes. Does he mean NEW, or DIFFERENT?

Chief,

I just want to thank you for all of your hard work. I know you spend countless cell phone minutes, emails, and time studying and trying to put together the best rankings out there for All-Class in KS.

As far as Heights being #1. My boys and I are just going to spend the rest of January and February having a good time and enjoying the opportunity we get to wrestle. We discussed this in a meeting Monday. There are a lot of worse things out there in this world that we all could be doing, but instead... We are given the gift of wrestling and our goal is to not stress it. We are going to enjoy the gift God gave us and after February, Win or lose, we are going to know that #1 we did our best and #2 that WE HAD FUN! Because, if it's not fun, then what's the point?

Now to help out Chief a bit:

I have worked hard to forget Newton smile Heights 87 pts.

Daniel lost his mind and lost all of his pts. I believe he had already earned 3 pins up to the point that he lost to the Norton kid (who wrestled a very good game plan and deserved that nice win). I am not psychic, and can't tell you how he would of finished up, but (and I could be wrong) I believe he already has a win over the 3rd place finisher from GC. Would he have earned another fall and a win? Who knows.. .it's all speculation... but I am also not sure just how many total pts DD would of had if he would of stayed in the tourney... I suspect minimum of 20???

Heights 107 pts and in 8th

Now, I chose to sit Uylesses Deshazer after he suffered an injury in his loss to Tulsa Union. Ash was tough for sure! So UD was defaulted to 6th and score no more pts. I am not sure how many pts he would of added if he would of continued, but he does have a pretty solid win over Heinman of GC at Derby (I think) so maybe he could of been in the 3rd place match and I am not going to speculate the match between he and Cotton. Lets just say worst case scenerio for Uylesses and he takes 4th. Would he have scored at least 10 more pts in the tournamnet? If so, move heights up to 117 pts. That WOULD OF moved Heights to 5th with 117 pts.

And of course, Hunter Jameson at 189 had a horrible tournament after finishing 2nd to at Derby to #1 Dalton Beard. HE IS A WOULDA COULDA SHOULDA IN THAT BRACKET so we won't count him who should of at least grabbed a medal and 10-15 total pts. But he didnt. It is what it is

Things will, or will not get fixed... that is life.. either way... my guys are and are enjoying our time together as Falcons.

Derby should be applauded for their week-end! They had a phenomenal tournament. Garden City was awesome as well especially with what they had missing from their line-up. They are both led by very good, moral, and phenomenal coaches and I wish them the best of luck and health the rest of this season! ACtually, I wish that for all of Kansas! Lets enjoy it guys!

After February and the Senior Dual... we should have the clearest pic possible of a true All Class... Good Luck Chief!

I've found that you can get that check engine light to go off for a little while if you unhook the battery for 5 minutes. Usually gets rid of the "check Engine" worry for at least 5 or 10 miles....before it comes back on again. By the way, the most common reading on the little tool that tells you why the check engine light is on is "cylinder misfire". A lot of times spark plugs and plug wires takes care of the problem. Except the car manufacturers usually put at least one of those spark plugs back where only a mouse can get to it........

You can speculate and guess all you want about what if's and what would have beens. Bottom line is that Newton is over and we move on and still have the most important part of the season left. Heights is a good team that is well coached and they had a bad weekend (better now than later). Think of all that the heights team and coaches learned from that weekend... Rankings are speculation that obviously to many people throw all of their emotions into. I could say that Clay Center would have place second that weekend if Dalton Converse wrestles at 215. He has beat Marlatt from Derby who was the TOC champion at 215. You take away some points from Derby and add 1st place points for Clay Center and we get second...But we took third and in a month from now who cares who was the distant runner up to Tulsa Union if you win a state championship!

According to the results I seen Norton finished ahead of Garden City at Newton..............was that a misprint?

BBD, You are right on that. I sould have just said Derby beat Norton on 1/15 and Heights beat Derby on 1/15. Garden was missing a lot of points and still finished well. The bottom line was that Heights lost 20 points from Dap, 12 additional from Ulysses and 15 from missing Jones at 112. As bad of a day as the rest of the team had, that would still have given them 134.

Norton was missing Brett Terrell at 135, currently undefeated and ranked 2nd in 321A. With Terrell in the line-up, it would have been interesting to see how much higher Norton would have finished.
