Intermatwrestle may have something, but why when teams are struggling with budgets would a team like Baker fly all the way out to the worst area in the US for wrestling? If it is just to see some new teams I can understand that (I don't think a lot of NAIA teams are down that way though, then again...isn't Shorter the lone College in Georgia with wrestling?

Marion Military Academy may show up and ruin some guys cake walks! I think it would be nice for the fans of Baker to stay close and challenge themselves after already qualifying the max amount for nationals. Test the waters, go to Omaha or something.

Maybe there are some guys on the team from back that way and this is a nice gesture to go see family....but then again, who knows.

I think Baker wanted to support another new program, like they were supported last year.
They took a bus, didn't fly, and I would say that Coach May has an understanding of how to spend his money and what is best to get the team ready for the season.
I don't think MMI is the team that will ruin some guys cake walk but lookout for UCF they are a tough team with a lot of guys.

Yes, they took a bus. And they will be going to Omaha next week so don't worry, they will be challenged.

The rest of their schedule include duals or tournaments in Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma and one trip to Texas so the parents and fans will have plenty of opportunities to watch the team!

I guess you'll have to ask Coach May himself his reason for going to Georgia.

They do go to Omaha next week, as well as Nebraska several times, Iowa, and oklahoma, I think their schedule prepares them nicely as the season progresses.

No need to hijack the thread....or take the bait.

I have done some more looking.....no luck, I hate to wait for my son to text me on how it is going.....he never knows how his team is doing anyway. smile

I know that Brandon Gebhardt won, Jerome Newman lost and Rick Singer lost. I know Brandon won by pin, but I don't have any other details. I will let you all know as soon as I hear anything else.

Robert Shadrach won his first two matches by pin. Says the semi's are all Baker wrestlers.
Can't confirm that Allen Berg lost and Travis Shadrach lost and I don't know if it was first or second match. Owen won two and Dylan Berg has won. We need to teach these boys how to TEXT.

Brandon won his second match. Looks like Jacob Nowak won his first two, and lost his third. Joe pace was 2-0 so far. If I am wrong on these, don't shoot the messenger! I am trying to decipher texts from a 19 year old! Jerome Newman just lost. Rick Singer just won a tough one, 3-2!

Brandon won again, Dylan Berg beat Jacob Nowak, Joe Pace lost to Robert Shadrach. I asked Brandon to maybe give me an update on some of the other weights! So i will let you know if I hear from him.

Ok, here goes. Callahan is wrestling Windham in the consi-semis. Jake Price just won a backside match, but I have no clue for what. Nathan Sommer is still on the front side (he thinks), Jason Schweer is out, and Travis Shadrach was losing on his backside match. Not much, I know, but it's what I got.

Elias Parenti won his first match 5-3, won his second by pin, and was injured in the match to go to the semi's.
Chris Coover won his first match, but have heard nothing else.
