I would like to Thank the P.A. man he provided the scores for me. I failed to get the one team score written down. Good Tournament and I think Coach Nathan Broeckelman was going to post the top three placers? Iam in Wichita for the Kansas Newman Open (working for Coach Smith). I don't have the top three placers. I know we had some kids place. "Ole Coach Gonzales" signing off. Might call Mike Church see if the Taco Shop is open this early. RMG

Am I mistaken or was Manhattan not even ranked as a team in 6a in the last poll? Great showing by them, looked like a tough tournament.

The rankings are not Dual Team rankings. Lansing for example may have 7 state placers and have lost duals to unranked teams.

Most teams had a kid or 3 out of the line-ups for injuries, ACT tests ect. Manhattan had kids filling in during the morning and the ACT takers got there as soon as they could after they were done taking the test. (yes they weighed in with their team in Manhattan). Some of the other schools traveled too far to do such a thing. It was a very exciting and competitive day. Many duals came down to the final match.
Manhattan is a very solid dual team that should not be overlooked.(Emporia Dual friday night another example)
SME had some impressive athletes and coach Ufford works very well with those guys.
Goddard had possibly the most devastated line-up without Bonilla and Houlden(and i think at least one more but cant remember who?).
Heights is always dangerous wink
Newell and Eaton will do very well for coach Hutch in Smith Center.
Thanks to all who attended. We hope you enjoyed it.

How about some individual placements, please.

And Woodruff, 4th at state, was the other Goddard out.

After looking at the placing and the matches above. I am curious to how the 140lb bracket was scored and placed. After looking through the rounds I had the following placers
1. Mitchell -18pts 4-1
2. Newell -16pts 4-1
3. Matthews -13pts 3-2
4. Strauss -12pts 2-0 in the 140lb bracket
5. Tie - Figueroa and Hedrick 1-4
6. Anguiano 0-3 in the 140lb bracket

I noticed that Strauss bounced up to 145lbs during the 3rd-5th rounds. I was wondering how that works and how he would even place in the 140lb and not the 145lb. Please fill me in with any information.
