I know it is early, I might as well start narrowing down weight classes right now. Who are the big dogs in 12u 70 and 73? Mason is under 64, but lookin for the big dogs in those weights and looking to wrestle up through out the year? Mason was on the computer and lookin at 70 and 73, I asked him what he was doing and he said lookin to see who is there, cause I want to wrestle up for State again. I told him what ever he wants to do that would be fine by me, we wrestled up last year two weight classes and made it to the championship. No reason why you cant do it again. To quote Travis Phippen " Mason is not afraid of competition". So give us some names, who's the guns at 70 and 73.

Definatly interested in 12u 72, but 76 is a bit to much to ask of anyone, but like i said it's early state talk. Thanks for the names, which would possibly be at 72?

James, where you guys going this weekend Jonny will be in Paola. I wont be there. Jonny's 10u But if you want Jonny says he'll give him another exabition match? From the looks of it right now theres only 2 kids in Masons and 5 in Jon's and Jon could use the mat time and some to push him.

Just a question?
Why wrestle up for tougher kids when you got one of the toughest in the country right there with you?
If you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best and doesn't Boo Dryden already have a victory over you this year.
If you want to makea statement then beat Dryden a few times and then go looking for fresh meat.
Otherwise it does kind of look like you running from him.
I hear what Phippan is saying but until you are beating EVERY kid around you then why move up? Bigger does not always mean better!

It isn't about Boo Dryden, yes he has a 4-3 victory over us at Kickoff Nationals. It is about wrestling different kid's. I am not taking anything away from Boo , he is a great wrestler and he has won against us more time's than we have won against him. We have a 9-0 victory over him at Amarillo Nationals just 3 weeks before, we also have victory over him at State and Tulsa Nationals. As far as bigger your right it does not mean better, but it does prepare for the kids who come down in weight. And just to clear the record we have never ran from no one, and I think that has already been proven.

Jon I think we will be at Paola, and an exibition would be fine.

For us its a matter of bang for you buck. If we wrestle in a our own weight bracket lets say theres one really tough kid so you get one really tough match that day. Step up two weights and a maybe not so technicial wrestler becomes a great match because of the size and strength difference, so you wrestle 3 or 4 hard matches. The size differece is a great way to hone your precision you've got to use perfect technique because you can't muscle out of bad position. I would rather my wrestlers wrestle 4 1-point matches, than get 3 pins and 1 1-point matches. Its the mat time we want at this point in the season.
