Who beat him Chief? What was the score between him and Vieyra.

Dustin is 26-1 and was announced as such before the finals. I think the final score with Vieyra was 7-2.

Javier is a very tough wrestler. I am curious why he was wrestling up at this tournament. My guess would be to get some quality matches against bigger wrestlers. I think this young man works about as hard as many of the best in the state. As I said, just curious.

yeah Reed got thrown in a head lock and couldn't make up the points in his match with Risewick but he finished his weekend out well.

Javier is a tough wrestler and talking to him he felt that 103 wasn't very tough at this tournament so he wanted quality matches but didn't get as many as he hoped.. with Jr Morgan getting sick and defaulting out

Thanks. That is what I was thinking. Javier will likely make it to the next level.

I would say that all weight classes had some tough kids in the tournament. I believe that Javier is wrestling 112 because he likes his chances at being a State Champion at 112 rather than 103 with Gentzler being there. 112 was a very tough weight class at Beloit but to say that 103 had no quality kids in it is wrong. What qualifies as a "Quality" kid? Goepfert of Marysville and Roberts of Clay Center are both tough kids that can hang with any wrestler in the state at their weight class other than Gentzler.

I didnt say they werent quality i just said it wasnt as tough and seeing how Roberts won and javier won Newton I'm sure he felt he could really test his ability by trying to beat Reed who is one of the best 112's this year. I also heard Javier had no troubles making 112 since he weighed in with all his clothes on and eating a sandwich so I could see him staying at 103... and your really setting Gentzler apart from every kid in the state when Javier can hang with him and who knows maybe even beat him.. I would have trouble seeing Javier being scared and bumping up just to win state when he can really test his abilities.

I believe Risewick scored his points from a takedown, reversal, and then nearfall with his legs in. Reed scored his from escapes.

I did not say he was scared and Gentzler's wrestling this year has set him apart from the other 103's. I have seen both kids wrestle and both are very tough. I believe that Javier would give Gentzler a great match, but from what I heard his coach saying was that Javier was going to try 112 because he liked his chances winning a title at 112 rather than 103. It is ultimately not my decision I was just giving some insight. Bottom line both are talented kids that are state champion material at 103 or 112.

Reed had a takedown and 2 escapes.

Risewick had a takedown, 2 excapes, and a headlock off a scramble from the top position for 3 near fall points. It was a weird situation in which it looked like a reversal was coming, Risewick out-hustled Reed and scrambled into a headlock. The legs were not in when the headlock happened.
