The Clearwater Youth Wrestling Club will be hosting our Tournament on January 29, 2011. This year we have enlisted Steven Foster to be our Tournament Director. As many of you know, he is also involved with the Park City Classic and Sprawl Nationals along with lots of other local tournaments in our area.
We will be running the eight-man scramble format wherever possible to maximize mat time (min. of four matches, five if bracket is full). This is a great opportunity to get experience for your wrestlers against quality opponents.
In addition, we will be running a girls division. If we have enough girls participate, I will designate a mat just for the girls. We would like to build on last years number.
As with last year, we will be giving championship shirts to all the bracket winners (a-z) in addition to the first place medal.

P.S. To enter the girls, please e-mail Steven Foster (steven.foster31@yahoo.com) weight/age and he will put the info into trackwrestling.

For any questions please contact: Tom Helmers
Assistant Tournament Director

The Clearwater Tournament is a split format tournament we will run 6U,10U an 14U in the morning. The 8U and 12U and all ther girls will be going in the afternoon. Also, the eight-man scramble format will be used wherever possible to maximize the number of matches.

We will be utilizing the 8Man Scramble format for any bracket with 7 or 8 wrestlers.

The basic format places half of the wrestlers into two Round Robin Pools. After wrestling in the pools the bracket allocates wrestlers to potential placement positions into a placement bracket.

If a bracket has a 8 wrestlers...it guarantees each wrestler 5 matches...

If you are interested in seeing how the bracket works...you can go view the 85-95 pound bracket from the Olathe tournament...http://www.twnode4.com/opentournaments/MainFrame.jsp?sport=wrestling&TIM=1296101281121&pageName=&ie=true&frameSize=500

Home Site Weigh in sheets...

We will email out home site weigh in sheets tomorrow afternoon.

We need one home site weigh in sheet per club.

It is very difficult to account for every wrestler if we receive too many sheets back.

Please enter the wrestlers exact weight into the sheet...

If anyone has issues...please feel free to contact me at steven.foster31@yahoo.com

thank you

I have emailed the Home-Site weigh in sheet to those clubs who have requested them. Please remember one sheet per club.

If your club is doing home-site weigh in and have not requested the spreadsheet please contact Tom Helmers or myself...

thanks
Steven

Very good day!
Had to wait on track wrestling but what are you going to do.
Really good matches even though it was up againest Salina
Good ref crew
Great hospitality room
Clearwater staff walking thru the crowds asking "are you ok? Everything going good?"
Brackets were posted night before and update through out the day.
Nice easy day!
Great job Clearwater!

Great day in Clearwater! Loved the brackets being posted. Made it so easy to get bout sheets ready for the parents of our wrestlers.
Really appreciated the hospitality room. The food was very good and so nice to be able to run in and grab something with out having to spend a ton.
Thank you!

I was really excited to see so many girls out there wrestling. I really wish that if you have any girls high school level who want to wrestle that they come out in droves to the high school coaches. There are so many that do accept them and then you have a few who are old school and still are thinking in the dark ages. I am pretty disgusted with a couple of them.

I was very impressed sat with the quality of female wrestlers out there. I was very proud to watch them.
