i would just like to know once and for all where the greenest grass is.
according to d4- d2 has greener grass, because they DON'T have to travel as far
according to d2- d1 has the greener grass, because they MIGHT not have followed the rules to the tee
according to d3- d4 has the greener grass becuase they have a few extra hours to CUT weight
according to d1- d3 has the greener grass because they have fewer kids, thus making it EASY to get to state
we can't agree about some Oklahoma kids entering the KS state series. we can't agree that western ks gets special privelages becasue they live in a remote area. we can't agree even hwt wrestlers should follow the 35 lb rule. we can't agree that kids shouldn't cut weight. we can't agree which district has the toughest competition. we can't agree on who has an easier road to advance to state. we can't agree on how long the season should be. we can't agree that all clubs have bad apples.
can we agree that richard plays better with himself that with others? can we agree that if BLT ate more BLTs that he might be LLT? can we agree that TOHK and SEK= good coaches/ good wrestlers? can we agree that Beeson only plays a HA on the forums? can we agree that watching NIX play TEAMROPER in a game of full contact/no holds barred checker to settle a debate about the world's best bbq, would be funny? can we agree that if I didn't have my HEADUP my ..... that it would be easier to breath?
can't we just agree that this is for the kids, this is a long season, these kids have worked their rears off, their starting to grow, their in the middle of spring break, this is the toughest AND funnest time of the year, and they really don't need us griping about little insignificant things, they need to focus and wrestle. they don't care who has the greenest grass, why should we? GOOD LUCK TO ALL KS WRESTLERS THIS WEEKEND AND NEXT. and don't forget to cheer on Tyler Caldwell tonight in the NCAA D1 finals.

Oh I think we're all pretty much in agreement on this and I think it will be even more evident after the vote on a new constitutional amendment next fall!

Can we agree that this is a growing and everchanging sport. And that if we don't look to adapt to the future without getting stuck in the past then we are in trouble.

Your right Chad... Everythings the same as it was 20yrs ago!
Good thing weigh ins are the same! Getting up at 4am every weekend to make Sat weigh ins is a character builder.
And its ok to wrestle EVERY weekend, that the season dont start til January!
And there only 3 tournaments in the state this weekend and they are all over 2 hrs away but its ok cause gas is only $1.50
Good thing the the economy is the same and the entry fees are the same. You would never catch me going to a $15 or $20 entry fee tournament.
The physical condition of the kids in America is exactly the same so good thing we have never had to change weight classes.
My kids a little over can I borrow a plastic sweat suit to wear during practice?
geez! I love this sport! I hope it never chages!

beeson you lost your right to pretend to be a ha when you whined about the d4 weigh in advantage scandal. I agree and disagree. We should have never kids start weighing in on friday night. Made it too easy to start moving the weigh in times. Noon is an awful early weigh in, that is 6 hour advantage to re-hydrate. Lets not pretend it is not happening...plastics are still being used, even for the 6U.

You need to be put in jail for putting plastics on a 6 year old. Not you as in Beeson, You as in whoever told the kid to put these on.

i don't see how anyone in d4 had an advantage over anyone in another district this past weekend. the advantage of extra time to hydrate only came to those d4 kids who CHOSE to weigh in at noon. the advantage would only be against those who CHOSE not to weigh in early.
there will be no advantage this week. those that have CHOSEN to work hard, to prepare, to get stronger, to get in better shape, to manage their weight, WILL have an advantage. this HA thinks that's as fair is it gets, or ever will be.

Topeka is a long haul this weekend.

Actually there is. We are having one from 4 to 7:30 pm here in Lawrence. We added the extra half hour since it takes a little longer for D4 to get here than it would in Topeka. Here are the details:
Where: My House When: 4-7:30pm
Other Information:
Singlets must be worn during weigh ins. The scale usually weighs anywhere from a half pound to a pound and a half heavy so you should plan ahead to make the needed adjustments. You will step on the scale three times, probably get three different readings, then we will take an average to determine your true weight.
Note: If you are wrestling the HS/112 division, you should probably weigh in at Topeka because you will have a hard time making weight here.
I hope this information helps.

Great post, Headup. It's really easy to get sucked into all the b*tching and whining that goes on in here, but when it comes down to it... this is supposed to be for the kids. You made me laugh and I think maybe you showed some people what they really sounded like. And like Chase, I too would like to know when the full contact checkers game is going to be.

If Nix is out on the checkers I hereby challenge HeadUp to a game of bowling. Not the real kind the kind the kids play with plastic pins and stuff.
Bring it Nancy Boy!
