Did I read it correctly that Cade Lautt beat Jackson Hartley in the finals at the State Tourny or did Trackwrestling mess up the results? Just curious because I've seen several mistakes lately on track and the outcome of matches.

Yes, Cade Laut did in fact beat Hartley.. Cade wasn't going to be beaten ..I would put that match up for the best one..I watched and cheered Mr.Lautt on..Cade is a outstanding young man as is Jackson hartley also... But Cade dominated the match...

This situation kinda reminded me of the Darrion Caldwell vs Brett Metcalf match in the 2009 NCAA Finals.
Nothing againest Lautt but
On paper it wasn't supposed to go down like that.
Hartley had multiple victories over lautt including a :50 pin in Park City.
Just goes to show you that everyone that has courage to toe the line has a chance to win.
Lautt brought it all and come out on top!
Congrats to both boys on excellent seasons!

Saturday eve after I got home from work I got on Track and checked out the brackets. When I pulled up this bracket I
said to myself that Cade had a nice tourney and would place
2nd to Hartley. Went to the finals and ending up watching
this match and was shocked how the match went. As the saying
goes, that is why you play the game. 2 outstanding wrestlers
doing battle, does not get any better than that!
Congrats to Cade for stepping up your game and not backing
down.

Thank you for recognizing their effort. Going into state I would be lying if I didn't say it crossed my mind to have Cade move up or down a bracket ... but only for a second. Then I realized I had to live what I preach. I told Cade I'd rather him lose to Jackson than win in another bracket (and I'm not making that assumption either). We talked about pride, honor and giving everything you have ... about conquering things you've never conquered before and believing in yourself (I get kinda emotional about this stuff). Cade hadn't beaten Jackson ... ever. In fact Cade had been pinned quite a few times. At any rate, Cade responded and I couldn't be prouder of his effort - not his victory - his effort. Jackson is a bad to the bone wrestler and really cool kid - I'm just glad there are kids like him. I love this sport - the people in it - and what it teaches!!
