Announcing the USA Memorial Duals Freestyle and Greco.

It’s on May 28th and 29th in Fremont, Nebraska. Price is very reasonable. A great way to get matches leading up to Cadet and Junior duals.

This is a combined grade division tournament. Yes, this has been cleared through the National office. It’s for 6th through 12th graders. There are 19 weight classes. The venue is terrific. Midland University is where it will be taking place. It’s in Fremont, Nebraska, just 20 minutes from Omaha. This is the same venue where the Elementary National duals takes place.

Only taking the first 16 teams in this event. They do not have to be State teams but encouraged. Bring a club team if you would like. Wrestlers do not need to be from the same State.

Sincerely,

Fred Franklin
NE USA Wrestling

USA Memorial Duals Freestyle/Greco
May 27th, 28th and 29th in Fremont, Nebraska at Midland University.

This is a USA event and you must have a USA wrestling card. You must have a USA Coaches Card to coach at mat side.
Team entry fee is $350 per team per style.
Only accepting the first 16 teams entered
The weight classes for the event are as follows: 70, 77, 84, 91, 98, 105, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, 215, 285. Each team is limited to 25 wrestlers per team and must be listed on your roster. The teams can be a State team or a club team. The team does not have to be made up of wrestlers from the same state but encouraged. Grade verification (report card or official letter from a school authority) will be required for all wrestlers. This event is for 6th through 12th graders. The grade eligibility is based on the grade the wrestler was in during the school year of 2010/2011. A wrestler can’t be in this event if he or she will be 20 years old during the calendar year of 2011. Please be prepared to show proof of age if challenged.

Each team will be allowed 5 coaches. From your coaching staff, you must provide table help for each dual. There will be an official electronic score keeper and a time/score clock keeper. These duties should be divided between the 2 dual teams competing. We will be using Trackwrestling for this event and we require each team to have a laptop, with wireless capability at each scoring table for the electronic dual bout system. Your laptop will be used by your team only. Take it with you as your team changes to a different mat/scoring table. There will be a training clinic prior to the start of the tournament. As you designate your electronic scorer for your team, please email their contact info to Craig Pokorny at craig.pokorny@gmail.com . He can set them up as a statistician in the tournament and send them a link to practice scoring a match electronically on the testing site.

Each team entered in the tournament must bring at least one mat official to work at the tournament. A team may pick up mat officials from other states, if they choose. They may not designate a mat official from the host State. Only teams within the host State may designate mat officials from the host State for their teams.

Looks like Nebraska will have 2 teams, North Dakota will have 1 team and then North Dakota/South Dakota combining for 1 team. Iowa has two teams also. Minnesota is trying to put something together. A few more teams and we will be set to go. Looks like 10 to 12 matches in 2 days. They don't have to be State teams. Grab some guys from Missouri and Kansas to make one or two teams. Getting matches is the key. The price is right and on a great weekend with nothing else going on.

Mr. Franklin,

I would be very interested in putting a team together and attending your event, but this is the same weekend as our Southern Plains Camp and we are pushing for ALL of our Cadets and Juniors to attend the Southern Plains Camp and Tournament. If something falls through I will be happy to contact you. Thanks for your offer.
