I won’t be able to give you any specifics on numbers until we transfer the preregistration entries into the main TW site. However, we are on track to have similar numbers as last year. Currently we have 290 entries for Folkstyle and 200 entries for the Takedown tourney. Mail in registrations close today, but the online entry via trackwrestling.com will stay open until Thursday! Keep your registrations coming! We are looking forward to a great event.

WE are also looking for volunteers to assist with tables/scoring. If interested please email Pat Kelly at pkelly@usd345.com. All volunteers will be given an event t-shirt and noon meal! Thanks.

Mark is it possible you unlock the wrestler matrix so we can see who is entered. We actually have a weekend free and might want to come but would want to make sure there are kids around his size coming as well.

Thanks,

I will give it a try I am mobile today...but if I get it released all you see is the athletes names and divisions.

We are Madison bracketing based on weights at weigh-in. We would like to get as many people weighed in on Friday night as possible. Friday night weigh-in is a requirement for the Takedown tourney. If anyone wants to host a satalite let me know and we will consider it. Because I am on the road, please direct your questions to Coach Kelly at pkelly@usd345.com. Thanks....

Can anyone tell me the rules on coaches? I am bringing my HS son to wrestle, but I do not have a current USAW coach's card. Does that matter here?

badbo...the wrestling matrix was opened up yesterday afternoon. We conducted a cleanup of the list deleting double entries and correcting for clerical errors...preregistration numbers went down as a result. However, when mail-in entries that do not go into preregistration are accounted for we still have over 300 entries in the Folkstyle tournament. The HS division is up sharply over last year.

Warriordad...this is not a USAWA sanctioned event. SSG insures it by other methods. There are no restrictions to coaching...other than my standard. My standard is that as long as you are being ethical and following proper coaching protocol you are more than welcome to coach. If you step over the line, you will be asked to leave the floor and will not be allowed matside for the remainder of the tournament.

We are looking forward to a very good day of wrestling! Online registrations will close at 7pm tonight. This will allow us the time necessary to get the information transferred into the live TW site and to get prepared for Friday night weigh-ins.

Good Luck and let the Sunflower State Games begin!

I am guessing that because of my email being listed on this site I have been getting emails for weeks inviting me to participate in the California State Games and I have also been solicited to participate in the Rocky Mountain State Games.

The main purpose of these games is to provide a chance for personal development through sports for all age groups and people of various socio-economic backgrounds. In my humble opinion, if athletes outside of our state boarders are interested in competing at the SSG, we in Kansas should take pride and roll out the welcome MATS (pardon the pun)! I don’t think any of the SSG events screen for "Kansas" residency...but I will double check with those in charge.

I hope this answers your questions. Thank you.
