Their coach Jason Halling has a current topic on the College Forum in which he is asking for the Kansas wrestling community to consider helping the club now with a financial contribution to assist them with the additional club expenses for this trip to National in Daytona Beach, Florida.

I know Jason and the other club members would appreciate any amount that you could send them at this time.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank a few individuals that provided significant contributions to our program during our National Duals run.

Thanks to Richard Salyer and the folks in District 2 for your support. We have several guys that came out of that district during their youth careers.

Thanks to John Mosley. He had something to do with Pat being involved with our program, but we appreciate your financial support as well.
I know I am missing many individual contributors, and any amount donated was awesome. With that said, I couldn't let these folks go unnoticed.

We exceeded our expectations this season as we qualified 8 of 9 for the National Tournament in Daytona Florida. We are looking forward to representing Wichita State and Kansas Wrestling. We appreciate all the enthusiasm you (the Kansas Wrestling Community) has given us, and we look forward to your continued support as we head to Nationals.

Western Kansas Classic – Thank you so much!
We are pleased to announce, due to the great turn out of wrestlers we had at our tournament, we have been given the opportunity to donate some of our entry money back into the great sport of wrestling. We had over 1000 entries for our tournament. We will donate $1 from each entry to the Kansas College Wrestling Fund, and $1 from each entry will be donated to Fort Hays State Universities Wrestling Program.

When the parade happens this week, everyone should take some time to reflect on all the young wrestlers out on the floor. These are the young people who will one day become the main beneficiaries of this Kansas College Wrestling Fund. If it is successful it will be a significant force in helping our current Kansas college wrestling to continue to thrive and perhaps it will one day be helping even more college wrestling programs in Kansas. This will mean increased opportunities for our young wrestlers to further their wrestling careers and even more important their academic careers. It will help many current and future Kansas wrestlers to pursue a college degree which will help them in their future careers. You will be making a difference in the lives of many young people with every dollar that you donate to this fund. Know that this is true because this is intended to be a forever fund that the Kansas wrestling community is gifting to current and future generations. You can be a part of that. The sooner we all become a part of the effort the stronger the fund will be and the more it will ultimately accomplish. Remember every contribution counts no matter the amount. The important thing is to become a donor as soon as you can. Good luck to all the wrestlers and their families this weekend. This is a very special time in all your lives. Enjoy this tournament with your young wrestlers and the rest of your family. You will always cherish the memories of this time you have together.

I urge you all to go to the College Forum and read the last six posts since 5-11-12 on the Kansas College Wrestling Fund which I think are pretty good and will update you on its progress. This effort is certainly very important to most of the young high school wrestlers who for the last four years have gone on to wrestle at the Kansas colleges and universities which provide academic plus wrestling opportunities for them in college. This fund will also be a major future benefit to many of your youth wrestlers who will also be given the opportunity to do the same when they are ready to enter college. Keep informed on this fund and get involved with it for the future of college wrestling in Kansas.

In our first year we raised approximately $24,000 and had $1,500 in expenses for promotional materials. Each of the 10 colleges will each be getting a check for $1,100 this fall.
