The streak continues - the visiting team comes away with a victory!

Great job seaman coming up with some falls.

GE was missing varsity 152 - But Damron was in the match until he got caught.

120- Fitzpatrick in the match - a little mma arm bar and he gets caught
GE Open at heavy weight due to illness.

coulda woulda shoulda

for back in the day: 120- Fitzpatrick in the match - a little mma arm bar and he gets caught

Clarifying since you brought it up..."mma arm bar" was unintentional/incidental/accidental and occurred in the first period. Although the ref didn't catch it, it was released as soon as it was realized. The fall occurred in the SECOND period and was totally unrelated to the first period discretion. Pittman also apologized to Fitzpatrick after the match for the accidental hold.
Next time, if you're going to point something out, at least complete the story. Thanks!

The point of my post was, this is the second dual of the year where Seaman earned a victory that the “shoulda, coulda, woulda” comments were made. Seaman has been shorthanded in various ways much of the season. Three varsity wresters have spent time on the injured reserve at different points this year. Last night was no different with Stanley being sidelined with a hand injury that has kept him out of the line up most of January. Seaman has 32 wrestlers on roster compared to the 54 on Gardner’s. When we have kids out due to injury or illness we don’t have as many options as most other 5A/6A schools. Our coaches put the best line up “available” on the mat, our kids strap their head gear on, lace their shoes up tight, and compete to the best of their ability.

I wasn't able to attend the dual, but it appeared to me that Gardner had options up and down the line up. At the top end I am confused why you would go open at HWT...that decision may have impacted the final team scores. …or maybe it would have ended up the same way; we’ll never know. Great win Vikings!

Not taking anything from Seaman with my "woulda coulda Shoulda" They got the falls, won the dual! Great job! just blowing smoke about all the things you cant control.

everyone has to overcome adversity. that is why this is such a great sport.
Hope Stanley is well soon. Was looking forward to another match with Stocketon. The match at GE Tournament was hard fought.

I have been watching for GE wrestling for the last 5 years. They are working hard to build a great program. it is one thing to have a bunch of kids out at the first of the year. It is another thing to build a sense of toughness and have kids out at the end of the year.

Not sure why heavy weight was open. I heard our 285 was sick during the week and missed too many practices to compete. bummer. Would have been a good test for the first year wrestler.

GE's heavyweight was not available for the dual. The roster posted above lists 3 220 lbers. Williard wrestled 220 last night, one is no longer on the team, and the other is now at 195. That is why GE was open at 285.
GE coaches, like yours, put the best line up “available” on the mat, have their kids strap their head gear on, lace their shoes up tight, and compete to the best of their ability. Last night Seamans out performed GE's. It's that simple. No excuses
