having been around for a number of years and all over the nation for kids , highschool, and college - my eyes were opened to what wresling should be. Attend an Iowa Haweye Dual in Iowa city. Please If you son or daughter is commited to wrestling there is no better place that I have been to to see a dual. We went to several duals - Iowa vs Ok st - over 15000 fans - on a sunday afternoon Iowa vs Minnesota there we over 9,000 fans. Those wrestlers up there are like rock stars with press conferences and lines of kids waiting for autographs. (the key "Lines of kids watching" this plants the seeds for a very large fan base) I ask my son what he thought was the difference. One of the things he said were the difference - He said almost every college has a wresling program. I think Kansas is on the right track adding a number of new wresling programs in the last few years.

A recent request was made to the KSHSAA to set up a KCWF information/donation booth at the high school state tournaments. We were denied because of a policy that allows only one vendor with an "exclusive merchandising agreement".

Below is the response:

Mr. McCarthy:
Thank you for checking with the KSHSAA in advance. There are two key points for you to know:
1. KSHSAA does not permit vendors or exhibitors at its post season events
2. The KSHSAA has an exclusive merchandise agreement with a contracting company to vend KSHSAA state championship shirts etc. NO other organization may sell or give away items of any type.
In accordance with the above, your request to set up booths at any and all KSHSAA state wrestling tournament sites cannot be approved.
