160 is the toughest weight. I think the top 3 could easily claim the top spot. Hope Calvin is recovered.

195 5A deserves more comments. Rodd has some big wins and I watched O'Donnell this summer, and who know what you are going to get. He has matches where he can beat anyone.

145 4A is very deep.

Finally, I expect alot of movement on weight. There are some kids I just do not think are going to make these weights.

And, again, the best thread on the forum. It creates interest and frustrates that guy down south....

It can be funny...lol.

Look at last years final All-Class ranking and you will see Olsen ranked above Hunter. That was based on a triangle of wins/losses vs. Stokes and others. Those two defeats happened in week 1 and 2 back in 2011. There have been over 50 matches wrestled since then. Olsen deserves that top ranking in my opinion but I do agree that Hunter has a valid point here! I may have to rethink that.

Thanks!

BDRan, Olsen is a nice young man, met him and some of his family for the first time last year, they were all very nice, polite, and respectful people, and die hard wrestling fans!! I enjoyed talking to them all!!and he is a stud. But, before the big Olsen vs Dulgarian showdown, you might want to remember there are some other tough, 138 ers out their he might have to face before he makes it too the big showdown!! Im sure they too are on a mission this year! Im just saying, and no disrespect intented, both Olsen and Dulgarian are good kids!!

B. Shoemaker-BAL
R. Humphrey-SMS
J. Durossett-FS
G. McEachern-NEW

Just too name a few of the guys I know will be at some the same Tournaments together, I know there are several more tough 138 ers out their.

1. Arkansas City - 5A
2. St. James Academy - 5A
3. St. Thomas Aquinas - 5A
4. Newton - 5A

This will be a lot of fun to watch as the season goes along. Come State, this could be one heck of a knock down drag out to see who takes the top prize. Good stuff.

My Boy Blue. No disrespect intended towards any of those four. I expect 138 to be the most entertaining weight class this year, with so much speed, strength, and variations in style in one weight class. It will be hard to look away from any match in that weight. I've seen all four of those studs do some crazy things firsthand. I was just saying as much as we're looking forward to the top three at 132, a bump up from Olsen to 138, and a good amount of upsets at tournaments, would lead to a showdown that could be one of the top matches seen this year. Emphasis on upsets though. Because 138 is steep, and I'll be studying the brackets at these tournaments more this year than any of my classes!
Best of luck to you this year though Blue, unless you're wrestling an Shawnee Mission School dressed in black and blue :p

5A race could be epic however I feel the railers have earned the 2 spot we return over 100 state points approx. 120 points and return 7 placers all of which have improved and 3 other state qualifiers who won matches last year and will be major threats to place especially 160 and 126 pound kids. We have a 113 pounder who will surprise a lot of people and Quinton Harrison slightly under ranked though all are good kids. He has wins over several great opponents and is 3 time medalist returning to that same weight. McEachern probably will be 45 and monares 32 or 38. That being said we were ranked 4 heading into regional last year and did just fine at state 6 points shy of ark city. I anticipate another great race and can't wait.

Those top 4 will be very close. Many things will change before the first weekend but I currently have five finalists for Ark and one for Newton. I do have eight placers for Newton, which will rack up a lot of points.

Are you talking about:

113 - E. Torres
126 - G. Torres
160 - Nelson

Correct on Torres cousins but Hayden Mock will be 60 and he was one match away from placing at 152 last year. Harrison split with number two and beat number 3 ranked guy at 26 just think he usually gets under ranked. McEachern will never see 38 and I think that makes a difference. We will see but I know we have finalists Langley and gallegos will be right there. Gallegos one point away from finals last year lost 1 to 0 to tough kid from hays cash drylie. Langley all american in cadets at fargo keeps getting better.A lot changes in a year i believe this newton team will be better than last year. But I also know other teams improve this just my opinion.

Scooter, maybe you can move this question to it's own thread since it's not an All-Class ranking issue, but I will throw out two names that come to mind...

Ryne Cokeley:
2008 - 119
2009 - 130
2010 - 145

Parker Madl:
2009 - 140
2010 - 171

The quality of the wrestler, not his weight class, determines whether he is able to bump up weight classes and still compete. There are plenty of kids that DON'T win state one year, then bump up several weight classes and DO win state the following year......

What about Kyle Miller, Buhler? Heard he took state @ 145# in Roman Grecko. And competed at Fargo..He also beat Spader last year at Hays. Thinking he should be somewhere on the rankings at 126..just my opinion

I agree that Maki is underrated. He should be at #5. I will update on Friday.

126 will change on Friday. Cole beat Miller. Greg Jones is likely to be in the rankings at this weight.
