Is there a rule about the heavyweight division in kids that says the amount of weight you can combine? In a heavyweight bracket, if they have sent in their actual weights do they have to be within like 15 pounds of each other or not?

In HS there have been quite a few 75 pound differences at HWT.

Okay, thanks. Would I apply the 15 lbs to the 6U also?

Chief...in high school there have been several that are more than 90 pound difference (I've seen several 195# kids wrestling in the 285# class)...but this was a question about the USAWA kids and the rules mods I posted are supposed to be what we go by. I know that in some cases if the weight is close to the limit listed above both coaches are informed and asked for consent...but if we wrestle outside the bounds of the weights listed then we are not following the rules of our sanction.

When combining weight classes this rule mod is important for tourney directers to be aware of!

You are correct 6U is a "subdivision" of 8U at this time.
