I had the pleasure of meeting this fine young man (who resides on the Kansas side of the state line and attends Rockhurst) at the Rockhurst-O'Hara-Blue Valley North dual last Tuesday. I really wish I could have seen his match against Dustin Williams that occurred earlier in the season at the Lee's Summit North tourney and it is too bad they won't face off in the Metro Classic one more time (Williams won 3-2 in the finals). He was polished in his speech and even made sure to say "yes sir" and "thank you". The Naval Academy is getting a top notch person as well as a wrestler next year.

I realize this is Missouri wrestling but if you want the chance to see some of the top wrestlers in the metro area as well as him in action Rockhurst has a home dual next Tuesday starting at 5pm against Park Hill (one of the top teams in the country with gifted guys at 113 & 120 amongst other weights).

Drew is an outstanding young man. He wrestled for the KCTC club at Olathe North this summer. The Johnson family wishes him luck at the Missouri State tourney this year.

Met him last year and totally agree. Good wrestler and nice young man.

Yes he is!! my boys Tre and Reis Humphrey, Parker Madal, Tyler Stanbro, and several other boy grew up wrestling together at the Blue Valley Wrestling club, it's hard to beleive they were all about the same size at one time!! their was lots of blood, sweat, and mostly Tears shed in in that room, which has made them the young men they are today!! Drew will be a good solider, and great Leader at the Naval Academy. He has a great famiy! I know them well!! The only thing I was surprized about was that he was not a Marine!! Like his Dad!! LOL. regardless I know he will be successful!! so stay strong Drew and keep your head up and you will make it through the Academy with no problem. remember, after you have wrestled, everything else in life is easy!! so good luck, and Im sure we will see you before you ship out..good luck the rest of the season, and im sure we will see you at the Metro.. Congratulations to Drew Daniels for winning a thrilling finals match 3-1 just a short time ago with a beautiful takedown in the last 20 seconds of the match. I watched the broadcast on Foxs Sports Midwest and the commentating along with the feed were great. What a career he had with a 4th place finish, 2nd place finish and now in his senior year capping it off with a state championship. By doing so he becomes Rockhurst high school's first individual champion in wrestling.
