Weigh for the Middle School State will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at each sub location. If you do not weigh in at sub site, you can weigh in in Lindsborg on Sunday from 7:00 to 7:30am.

Wrstling doesn't start til 9 am, so 10 am will get it within the 24 hour window allowed for weighins.......my guess anyway

Just hoping my boy could eat & drink before 10:00. But rules are rules. James please confirm the 10:00 weigh in. The flyer reads that the AM sub weigh in is good.

We are just trying to stay with the 24 hour rule and make it easier for the subs to get started without having to worry about a weigh at that time. I'm more worried about a wrestler making weight in Iowa then I'm worried about them this weekend. Iowa is a month away and some of these kids are groing now.

I was hoping that my son would be able to get a good breakfast before his first match at subs. Going to be a long morning. Guess no biscuits and gravy this year after making sub weight.

What are the AAU rules for weigh ins? I know you run the championships as USA, but we aren't going to a USA event. Rules can be bent, to accommodate these boys who are holding weight. 10:00 seems like a long time to wait. What if coaches from other clubs run it for the host subs. Then can we do it earlier? They aren't gonna weigh the same on Sunday after they eat, anyhow.

doing all of this to accommodate the 24 hour weigh in rule seems silly. For Jonny 95 is easy to make but for some who are pulling real weight are gonna suffer til 10:00 while wrestling subs just sucks. Does anyone really care if they counted sat am or even friday pm weigh ins for sunday

I'm with you Jon! Who cares Saturday early or (Which I'm ALL FOR) use Fridays weigh ins. They STILL have to make it in Iowa. Are we looking for our best at each weight? Or saying go up in weight because it hasn't been 24 hrs.
Make the call James, sign ups are drawing near.

I COMPLETELY AGREE. LET THESE KIDS WEIGH IN FRIDAY NIGHT AND EAT....THEN WORRY ABOUT IT IN APRIL. OTHER TOURNAMENTS HAVE ALLOWED WEIGHT ALLOWANCES.

I understand that there are weigh in rules, but I am thinking the 8:30 weigh in that was on the flier was in the best interest of the wrestlers. My concern is that there will be kids wrestling when subs start at 9am who have had nothing to drink since Friday to be hydrated. We all know that is how some of these kids roll.

My son always makes his weight by a couple pounds, but still insists on not drinking or eating until he weighs in. These kids are dedicated and love their sport.

Even though I don't like the 10 am weigh in, I too know that rules are rules, and we will follow as directed. A lot of wrestlers parents probably won't know about the change in weigh in time. Are coaches being contacted as to the weigh in time change so they may notify their wrestlers?

The rule for aau simply states thay there will be 1 weigh in the day prior to the scheduled event. So interpret how you will, I see it as the weigh ins could be at 7 in the morning and there is no violation of any kind. Let them weigh early if you have some volunteers willing to do it.

I don't have a kid wrestling so I'm neutral in a since, but at National Tournaments that include a Saturday individual tourney and a Sunday Dual tourney, they sometimes weigh in on Friday and it counts for both Saturday and Sunday. Or tourneys give a pound allowance if a wrestler wrestles the day prior...It doesn't make sense to me to have a kid hold his weight down at an important tournament like Subs...but what do I know, I from Ohio.

In the past (two years ago), the kids were allowed to weigh-in early saturday morning in a seperate weigh-in prior to the start of Subs. This still allowed time for them to get something to eat before they wrestled. What has changed?

This is straight out of the AAU Rule Book:

SPORT POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
a. Weigh Ins
i. For all AAU national events weigh-ins will last for four hours and take place the day before competition begins. Satellite weigh-ins are not allowed. An AAU official will be present in the
weigh-in room during all scheduled weigh-ins. There will be only one weigh-in for either
single or multiple day events.
ii. All wrestlers must weigh-in wearing a singlet.
iii. Re-weighs are not allowed.

So...when we go to Iowa we are going to be given 4 hours to weigh in the day before the wrestling starts

We will be in these guidelines allowing wrestlers weights to count from 6am-10am on Saturday morning
