As the State Qualifying Series begins please remember to give your child a hug; and a kiss from mom is always welcomed.
A child is never too old to receive a hug from from a grumpy old coach/dad and the child will certainly appreciate it. Not all things will go as planned or expected but a child should always be able to count on the love and support of their mom and dad.
Good Luck!

Just to add to a great point:
Please REWARD the effort NOT the Results!
4 Powerful Words: I'm Proud of You!
3 More Powerful Words: I Love You!
The greatest gift you can give to your wrestler - YOUR TIME!! Be there with them on this incredible journey!! You will never regret the time you spend along the way!

This is an excerpt taken from Responsible Sports for Parents site.
"Remember, research shows that athletes who receive positive encouragement, support and unconditional love from their parents tend to thrive."
A great website that I would encourage parents and coaches to join as it often addresses a wide variety of sports/situations/encouragement/suggestions.
Keep in mind also -- is it your child wrestling or is it you? You have "no idea" what it's like to be in their shoes or perhaps you do but they are not a mini you as much as you would like for them to be. If they give 100% Appreciate and Love that they gave 100%. Remember, "every dog has their day". (An old Cardinal euphamism).
And to that may all wrestlers wrestling this weekend TCOB!
In it to win it.

Thank you so much, now if all parents would read this, maybe we would see some outstanding results without all the yelling!
