$50 for one style, are you freaking kidding me? $70 for 2, 80 for all 3? Who sets the fees for this? Northern plains was $50 for 2 styles, wonder if numbers will be down this year, certainly changes my mind about going.

Did you see that Eckenbacherswartzendruber?

The fee is set by the seven states in the region. It is the same fee that was charged last year. Prior to that the fee was $35/style; the current fee structure is structured to encourage wrestlers to try different styles. If they enter two styles, the fee is the same as what it had been previously ($70); if they enter all three styles the cost per style drops to just a little over $25 per style.

Northern Plains charges $30 per style.

Mr Juby. I had a question and asked it under the Fila rule changes forum. Can you clarify the weigh-ins a little bit.
Thanks

Chris,

The instructions on the website are correct:
Quote:
Wrestlers only need to weigh-in one time for all three styles provided he/she actively competes in the first two styles. Athletes that wrestle in the first and third style must reweigh-in for the third style.

To phrase it a little differently, once you've weighed in, that weight is valid for any subsequent styles as long as you compete in each style. If you do not wrestle one style, you'll need to weigh in again for the next style.

Athletes competing in two or three styles will only need to weigh-in once for all events. This is contingent on the athlete wrestling in the first style scheduled. I was down in OK this week and they read it as weighing in Thursday for folkstyle and your good for the weekend, even if you skip Greco. I'm not arguig with you, but you will have a lot of guys not making weight on this misunderstanding.

Where did they read that athletes competing in two or three styles will only need to weigh-in once for all events?

On the official event flier. Under weigh in and medical. Drop down to weigh-ins and that is word for word.

Chris, thanks for pointing this out. The "Event Schedule" clearly explains USAW's rule on this, but the "Weighins & Medical" section gives misleading information. I've contacted USAW to get this corrected and we will announce the rule at the start of the folkstyle weigh-in to make sure everyone knows what the rule is.
