I understand how the rankings work, but you have Goodland who was previously ranked 4th and they drop to 9th after finishing ahead of Prairie View and only 11 points behind Holton last weekend in Baldwin. I think they have some wrestlers who deserve consideration to be in the rankings, 106 withington, 126 gastineau, 138 bahe he beates #4 ranked Taylor Murphy, was trailing 3-2 to #4 ranked tucker Clark from Baldwin late in the 3rd period got to high with the legs in trying to get exposure points and got pinned, had # 5 ranked Reischick pinned in the first period and ended up losing 9-7 in overtime. To have Scott City ranked 5th I think the ones in charge of the rankings need to rethink these rankings.

I have nothing to do with the rankings, but I do know that they have a formula based on number of kids ranked to get the team rankings. I'm not sure what the formula is for sure, but they give a certain number of points for the place each guy is ranked and that hypothetical "team score" leads to the team ranking.

Scott City's ranking would be a result of having 2 guys ranked #1. Goodland dropping would be a result of their 195 falling out of the rankings.

I do not know if they give some points for kids they think could qualify and win a match or two. That could certainly make a difference in the team score.

I would agree that Goodland has some unranked guys who deserve heavy consideration. I will also be willing to bet they finish higher than 9th, but we will know for sure in less than a month.

Bahe was beaten by a Spring Hill (unranked) wrestler and a Rusell wrestler which is unranked but could be a top 5-6 at Hays.

Don't get me wrong Bahe is tough, but not tough enough to break into the top 6 and if he did Presser would be ahead of him after the loss he gave him in Hays.

Taylor Murphy is 321-A anyways that doesn't factor into 4A rankings.

Almost wins don't count either, I have seen alot of top guys get wins they probably didn't deserve, but they figured out how to win.

Bahe was beating Smith 7-0 had him in a headlock and smith rolled Bahe to his back for the fall, until that moment it wasn't a match, at Baldwin he had Rieschick pinned in the first period but the ref never made the call, that is part of the sport I understand, but he lost 9-7 in o.t to the #5 ranked wrestler from Holton so he should get some consideration and so should withington at 106 and gastineau at 126

Your first line isn't giving him much help... Explain who you would remove and put him there?

To whomever does the 4-A rankings,

The 126 lb. wrestler from Hugoton, Pedro Ordonez, should not be overlooked in the rankings. I saw him at Garden City and he needs to get some consideration.

I would agree he looked tough in Hays.

I see Hittle from Concordia is back in the rankings, was he released and is he actually down to 195? If he is that will make 195s in the Colby bracket fairly tough because a lot of those wrestlers have been in and out of the rankings all year. I believe that Hittle, Bonsall, Maravilla, Zeigelmeir, and Campbell have all been ranked at one point this season. Loder from SV and Lehman from Abilene have impressive records as well.

126 seems to be wide open, a lot of changes in the rankings all year. Should be interesting.

To the Bahe equation... I was always told growing up that there is no almost win it's either you did or you didn't and he didn't get it done not saying he isn't a good wrestler but he lost the match so there isn't a way to rank him above a kid he lost to. I wouldn't be shocked to see him make a run in the state tournament.

Good luck at regionals everyone!!!

Rieschick won over Bahe in the bubble round at state anyway it didn't matter. NOW Tucker Clark had a great tournament as he upset Rieschick in the Quarterfinals and lost to Mies in a thriller.

I called Prester making the podium, and he never scratched the ranking all year.

I didn't consider Reischick and upset, both very good wrestlers always toward the top.

Upset to me is a kid like that getting beat by a 24-15 type kid.

Prester is very tough, and as only a sophomore, he will be back and I bet winning some high medals at state next couple years! Very impressed with that kid.

Russell was 321-A I think, that may be one reason.

My son has been around his weight for years, he is tough.
