I thought I heard that the middle school team was going to the same place as the elementary team was since it was sponsored by usa wrestling and not aau. That way you don't have to buy a aau card for every wrestler in that tournament.

Last year they had USA MS Duals going on at the same time as USA Elementary Duals in Council Bluffs, IA. I would think that Kansas would prefer to go to a USA event rather than an AAU event. Especially since all the kids would have a USA card already and not have to get an AAU card

This is the link from last year's MS Duals.

Just a quick question. So the middle duals and kids state are the same weekend? Just want to make sure I am reading the schedule correctly. Thanks

Middle school dual qualifier is on the 15th of March which is a day after sub-districts. Kids state is March 27-29. If the middle school goes the AAU route they wrestle April 3-5. If middle school goes USA wrestling route it is April 10-12.

I believe this is correct.

So...If I have my dates correct.... middle schoolers have to choose if they are going to go to Folkstyle Nationals in Iowa or, assuming they qualify, the AAU middle school duals that are on the same weekend...?

I have a couple questions about 6 & under state, as this is our first year attending. I see the admission is $5 per person does that include children as well? Also, are you allowing wrestlers to bring sealed water bottles/sports drinks, protein shakes, fresh fruit, jerky, cheese sticks, power/granola bars, yogurt, lunch meats, and tortillas into the tournament, like the Battle of the Belt tournament allowed? Thanks in advance!

I can’t answer the age for tickets but I can tell you with 99% certainty it will be no different than Tournament of Champions as for food. None of those items you mentioned will be allowed. They will have you dump water bottles out and fill them inside from the water fountain.

5 under get in free. All others will be $5. Please plan on purchasing your tickets on Saturday night or online. The box office will be open on Saturday night. Online is not up yet, but should be soon. I’ll post when it is up. There will also be cash only both in the weigh in area to purchase tickets also. PLEASE PURCHSE TICKETS IN ADVANCE!

Weigh in at the Bi Center in Salina. You will need to come in the East door of Heritage Hall. This is not the door that goes into the area. This door is on the East side of the building!! Saturday February 28, 6:30pm to 8:00pm in Salina

Satellite weigh in, I’m still working on. Will post the first of the week times and locations for satellite weigh in.

All Coaches will have to be bronze certified in order to coach. Wrist band will be required to get on the floor. Current coach’s card, bronze card and ID will be required to get a wrist band. They will be available on Saturday night at the box office or the cash only booth.

One water bottle or sport drink (preferred coke product) and one power/granola bar per wrestler will be allowed. The wrestlers are the only one that is allowed to bring it in.

Thank you for you response Daniel but we haven't been to Tournament of Champions either. This will be our first time coming to Salina for a tournament! Thank you James, I appreciate you answering my questions & will be watching for the online ticket purchasing to be up & going! Looking forward to the tournament! Thanks again!

Do coaches have to pay to get into the tournament.

For those of you wondering about the cost for the Elementary Dual Teams, it will be the same as last year - $225 per wresltler

I'll give the paperwork and instructions to the top 5 finishers at the podium - that same info will also be posted on this forum under the USA Heartland Elemantary Duals thread
