Not sure if any information about Liberty Nationals will be posted here since it is in Missouri and this is a Kansas Site but we are looking for a roster for the event.

Track says the line ups for the Liberty Duals will be released to the public 2-15-15 10pm but I don't see anything? Do you know if it will be released soon?

Just returned from the Liberty Nationals. I was not impressed with the way the tournament was ran (at least for the U6 kids on Friday night). Expensive entry fees for the participants, expensive gate fees for the spectators, many delays throughout the tournament, tough to follow the brackets (they used Flowrestling instead of Track)----which were not updated. Although I really liked the level of competition there as well as the benefit of live streaming through Flo --- which also came with a price tag, I don't think this tournament was worth the price paid for admission. I was just curious what others thoughts were?

I agree. 100%. Trackwrestling used to sign up but not run event or keep stats. A few tables so poorly run (Table 14 for example) that it cost some wrestlers matches. Only one turnstyle to enter the entire building. Wrestling sumo exhibition delayed the start time ... Drove through icy roads to make a 8AM start time when wrestling didnt actualy start until almost 9AM. Flo streaming cool for grandparents to watch out of state. However, crowded matside and table areas caused camera's to be blocked. Competition was the ONLY benefit and really the only reason to be there. Salina was run much better.

Don't forget the fact that they gave the table workers no training on the system. We stood at the table we were supposed to meet the trainer at. He didn't come. They told us to go to our tables and get started. We had to learn on the fly. There was one computer for the flowrestling, then a seperate controller for the time clock. It was a mess. Incredible competition though.

MEB -- This could be due to the fact that they were still actively recruiting table workers during the U6 weigh ins on Friday night. They were offering free admission to anyone willing to work a table....it just seems as though these details would have been worked out well in advance of the tournament. Although the table workers they found had great intentions, there is no way anyone could have received adequate training on the system in such a short amount of time. It is disconcerning because the level of competition was solid. I expect many wrestlers and their families to look elsewhere next year, based on this years experience.

Why they used an unproven tournament management system (floarena) instead of trackwrestling is beyond me. Trackwrestling had its problems early on also, but don't have a tourney of this caliber using it as flo's crash test dummy.

Doug---Great point. The final results of the tournament are still not posted on floarena. Another problem was the confusion with the brackets. We had a kid from our club wrestle for 5th and 6th. However, due to the confusion regarding if a 5th place match was even going to occur, he won by forfeit because the other kid left the arena. His bracket was not the only one like that on Friday night as there were many 5th place matches ending in forfeit.

I know they were using volunteers for weigh ins a couple of years ago and the volunteers kids were not weighing in. Makes a tough tournament easier when you can wrestle down a few weights without pulling the weight. It should be no surprise the kid won the tournament.

We have been to this tournament a few times and the competition was the only good thing about it this year. Using flowrestling instead of Track was a big mistake in my opinion. We had kid registered but was not on the list at weigh ins. Table workers did the best they could without knowing how to run floarena but there were mistakes. Way to crowded around tables and the mats. Wrestlers couldn't use the full circle because the mats were right against the bleachers and too crowded all around them, made it hard to score on the perimeter when you didn't know when the out of bounds whistle was going to blow. Frustrating year at Liberty.

I like the level of competition. In my older sons bracket he had two Tulsa Champions so talent level was high. I thought the space was a tad tight (hallway to left was wide open but they wouldn't let folks use it). I also agree with ZMcD that not a big fan of FloArena. We did Big Horn as a pre-season tournament and same thing nothing stayed in track. I was hoping at least after the event they would take the time an populate the brackets correctly yet to no avail.
