Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College travels to Kansas this week!

The Norsemen wrestlers will travel to Great Bend, Kansas on Friday evening (12/4/2015) for a NJCAA dual meet with Barton Community College. The match will start at 7:00 PM. NEO brings a 2-1 dual meet record into the match against a team that will be new to the schedule this year.

NEO will feature a line-up that includes many KANSAS wrestlers including 125 lb. freshman Logan Terrill (12-8), Arkansas City; 133 lb. Curtis Burnett (13-7), Independence; 174 lb. Saul Ortiz, Wichita Heights; and 184 lb. Jacob Hill (12-6), Augusta.

The other starters for NEO include 141 lb. Mitchell Sellers (12-6), Tahlequah, OK; 149 lb. Dustin Hayden (7-7), Johnstown, CO; 157 lb. Kristian Holguin-Mendez (18-6), Sapulpa, OK; 165 lb. Dawaylon Barnes (12-4), Muskogee, OK; 197 lb. Josh Latham (13-4), Chickasha, OK; and 285 lb. Blake Andrews (16-5), Grapevine, TX.

After the dual the team will return to Miami for a day, before heading to western Kansas again on Sunday for the Ft. Hays State University Open tournament. It is a busy week for the wrestlers just prior to the start of final exams on Monday December 7, 2015. Due to the exam week at the college and the importance of academic success, many members of the team will not make the trip to Hays, Kansas according to Head Coach Joe Renfro. "We want to give our student-athletes every opportunity to be successful both in the classroom and on the wrestling mat".

I just want to say thank you Coach Bammes for being a coach that win or lose reports the dam results. Some people sugar coat and only want to show the wins.

Damn results. I don't know Coach Bammes personally but I seen this dual and he held his shoulders high after it was over. I also seen him handle one of his wrestlers at the Newman University tournament, Coach Bammes you deserve a pat on your back, a cold beer, and a steak dinner for how you handled your wrestler after his loss and he forgot what he was there for. I do believe if the momma would of not been mat side it would of NOT been blown out of proportion. Your wrestler is human, he lost his mind briefly after a tough loss.
