Hi I'm trying to plan a vacation in March and I was curious if there were going to be subs this year and possibly the dates of subs and districts. Any help would be appreciated.

No sub district tournaments in D1. Only a District tournament.

Redistricting had a lot to do with that decision. Times are changing and some of the change will have a long term negative affect on participation numbers on the upper end. Just my opinion - we are speeding up the attrition rate.

I have to disagree. I feel that District 1 is actually the only District where a Sub-District was beneficial. In all other Districts it was a waste of time, gas, money, and travel to participate in Subs. I haven't done the research, but with the Redistricting, maybe Subs for D1 were unnecessary as well.
What is really having a long term negative affect on participation numbers is one simple fact. Wrestling is hard and most kids today are not. Too many parents, and the children by default, want immediate results. If they can not have the instant gratification of being successful in a very physical, hard and demanding sport, they quit. I would much rather get rid of Subs and the wasted weekend, then to coddle these kids along and pretend they are having accomplishments that they are not. Sometimes our best just isn't good enough and we have to go back, get better and try again. A lesson I would rather have them learn at a young age.

Gonna agree with Chad on this one spot-on. In District II (only district not to do it last year) over 50% if not 60% of the brackets had less than 8 kids (same numbers if you had sub-districts). Glad to see other districts follow suit. The season is too long to begin with and this is a step in shortening it. Saves time, gas, and money as well for those that might not be as fortunate as others and it all adds up.

State is March 25 Districts is the 18th. The Home page has the entire year calendar. Someone tell Chad districts are actually the 19th so he doesn't end up spending 24 hours in the casino waiting on the rest of us to show up.
