I have a kid in our club that decided to play on a treadmill and the treadmill won. He got road rash on both arms. Does anyone know if he could wear a long sleeve under armor shirt under singlet to help protect them. I know short sleeve is ok but don't have rule book with me

Good question. If it is allowed to wear tights on the legs, I would think the same would hold true on the arms. Either way will give me a reason to look into the rule book and find out.

I have seen a couple kids in long sleeves. I am not sure what the details are on it, but there are wrestlers that do it.

http://content.themat.com/forms/Rulebook.pdf

Mentions freestyle, greco and folkstyle - it looks like "tight fitting"

Competitors dress

Chapter 1 Article 5

NFHS Wrestling Rules for 2012/13 season

Rule 4, Section 1 Article I "Wrestlers Uniform"
It looks like tight fitting with 1 manufacturing label/logo

That is my understanding

High School rule book states:
Rule 4, Section 1, article a. If sufficient reason is determined by the referee a tight fitting, short sleeved or sleeveless undershirt of a single, solid color....
Kids modifications state: The legality of all uniforms is up to the referee, and need not conform to the NFSHSA rule.

Keith Ashpole should probably weigh in on the matter, or it will be up for debate every match.
