Dear Kansas Club Coaches,

Next April 22 will mark the 25th Anniversary of the Ohio Tournament of Champions, the world's largest one day amateur wrestling tournament. The event will be held at the Columbus Convention Center, in Columbus, OH and all mats will be under one roof. This year, we are expecting 3000 wrestlers to compete (7 different age groups, from 8 and under thru High School, and even Open). More information on the age groups/weight classes can be found on our site, at www.ohiotofc.com

The reason that I am posting here is to inform you that this year we are instituting a Region Competition. Basically, we have divided the United States up into about 40 Regions. The top placing Region, based on their top 25 place finishers, will receive a $2500 grant, to help wrestling in their Region. The top 5 Regions will receive grants (5th will receive $500).

*****At this time, we are looking for individuals interested in being a Region Chairman. Basically, it's a PR job of doing their best to get wrestlers, at all levels, (HS,MS and youth), to attend the event and represent your Region, which is Kansas/Nebraska, to attend the event. So, we are looking for a Kansas individual that would be interested in spreading the word and perhaps trying to organize a group to attend. There are no forms to fill out, you will not need to register anyone on your own or even designate who your point scorers are. Just help get a solid group of wrestlers together to attend and vie for the Region Crown.

If you are interested in this position, please contact me at bdbop@aol.com or at 614-507-1653 and I can fill you in on any additional information you may need to know. Basically what will happen is that you will be sent some "Wildcard Entry" flyers, that you can pass out around the state and let them know what is going on.

I know many folks in Kansas are Roller Productions folks and Jack runs a great tournament, as do we. I have talked to many folks who have attended both and some like his better and some like ours. Some say his is tougher and some think ours is tougher. In the end, it probably depends on what wrestlers may have been in their son's weight class. Both are super tough events and considered among the top tournaments in the country.

A list of past TofC participants includes: Kyle Snyder, David Taylor, Kyle Dake, Logan Stieber, Jon Reader, Nico Megaludis, Cody Brewer, Nathan Tomasello, Dean Heil, Frank Molinaro, Joey McKenna, Lance Palmer, Anthony Collica, Isaac Jordan, Bo Jordan, Myles Martin, Gabe Dean, Mike Miller, Justin Oliver, Chad Walsh, Ian Miller, Todd Preston, Patrick Downey, Brett Harner, Devin Carter, Anthony Ashnault, James Green, Hunter Stieber, Hudson Taylor, Jason Tsirtsis, Taylor Walsh, Cody Walters, Johnni DiJulius, Pierce Harger, Ed Ruth, Josh Kindig, Zeke Moisey, Zack Epperly, Bobby Telford, Coleman Scott, Ryan Taylor, Jackson Morse, Casey Kent, Mitchell Port, AJ Schopp, David Habat, Kenny Courts, Nate Brown, Mason Beckman, Eric Tannenbaum, Mark Grey, Dustin Schlatter, Troy Nickerson, Austin O’Connor, Alex Marinelli, Kaleb Romero, Yianni Diakomihalis, Luke Pletcher, Cade Olivas, Zahid Valencia, Mark Hall and many many more.

Yours in Wrestling,

Bart Freidenberg

We have already named about 80 Chairmen, in various Regions, and have 39 states, (including Nebraska,Oklahoma and Texas), already represented among these individuals, but are still looking for someone to head up Kansas

If interested, you can contact me at 614-507-1653 or bdbop@aol.com and I can fill you in on all the details.

It really is not that difficult of a position and it could result in your Region (Kansas/Nebraska) winning a $2500 grant,to help benefit wrestling there.

With this interest, we are expecting to easily reach 3000 wrestlers next April 22.
