The Topeka Blue Thunder would like to invite you to our Open/Novice/Girls tournament on February 12th. Pre-Registration is here. Flyer is here.

We have hosted district qualifying tournaments for the past several years and now we are looking to offer a great tournament open to everyone. We have a very large, nice facility with plenty of seating and parking.

As you will see on the flyer we have modified the open weights to pretty much match the USA Wrestling weights. We believe with reducing the amount of weight classes we can get more of those great wrestlers going head to head!! We hope that you are seeking out great competition also and will give the condensed weights a try.

6U and all Novice brackets will be round robin using Madison bracketing. Girls will use block weights.

We did make a correction in 10U.

Instead of 80, 87, 95 it is 80, 85, 90, 95.

We will get a updated flyer posted soon. Track is already updated.

We will remain on this date even with some of the reschedules happening today.

Understand we are a ways out yet....but we have had some good feedback on the condensed weights!! Looking forward to seeing the good match-ups.

Also several girls have expressed interest in coming.

Wanted to clarify the weigh in as after talking to a few this weekend in Salina some were confused.

You can do a home site weigh in, you just need to have a bronze coach that can do it. If that is an issue please let us know and we will work with you.

Entries starting to come in overall and 11 girls in the elementary division.

We have had a few calls about the girls division. We currently have 12 in elementary and 2 in Middle school.

The approach we are going to take is that if there is not a fit for them in the girls division we will move them to novice or open depending on the your teams suggestion to get them some matches. We want them to get mat time and if there is only 1 girl for them we will still offer to let them join the novice or open brackets at no additional charge.

Based on conversations with other clubs we are still expecting a decent amount of registrations in the next day or two.

We are going to go ahead and leave the pre-registration open until Thursday night.

We are just under 400 right now with another 50 or so to add from our own club.

How many have currently signed up for the girls division??

15 in elementary and 4 in Middle school.

We are leaving it open until 10 PM tonight. At least 30 more wrestlers overall to be added tonight that I have been told about.

We have had a few calls today looking to get some late adds for Sunday. We will add them if you contact me.

We are at 450 right now so if you are still wanting to wrestle this weekend send me a email or call and we will take care of you.

Will be a good day of wrestling and out at a decent time.

We had a few hiccups that we haven't had in the past but we will address them for the next time.

Definitely appreciate everyone for coming and hopefully the condensed weights provided some solid competition.

We will get a email out to all the teams that came looking for feedback so let your directors/coaches know if there is something you would like to see changed or kept in for next time.
