Might be helpful if you release the matrix

I agree. Releasing the matrix earlier would be helpful. I don't want to make the drive and my kid not have anyone to compete against

The matrix was/is set to be released 7 days prior to the closing of pre-registration, on 10/16. Hopefully this gives ample time to decide whether or not individuals would like to travel for the tournament. Our first focus is on presenting kids an open opportunity to compete in a no-pressure, preseason tournament in preparation for the up-coming season; and secondly give an opportunity for parents, coaches (as they typically retain more from a technique session), and kids to catch a technique clinic in hopes they pick up at least one new tool they can use as coaches or wrestlers.

We certainly do understand that seeing who will be there is of interest for some with regards to travel and such, but were also thinking the “jump in with both feet,” mentality would be an approach opted for as well. If there is a limited number of wrestlers at a given weight we will look at shifting those kids to another weight class (similar to “block” weigh-ins) in order to get their matches in- this will be at the discretion of the parent of course.

We hope to see you guys here!

Chris

I really think releasing it sooner rather than later would be beneficial. I know 4 parents here in town that would love to make the drive, but are wondering if their kids would have someone to compete against due to the fact a lot of kids are playing football. But, I understand your point. Your tourney, your rules

Due to the influx of emails, and questions received the past few days we have extended the pre-registration for the Rumble in the Bird's Nest until Friday (10/27) at Midnight. If you have any questions feel free to contact Coach Cole (ccole@cloud.edu), or Coach Freije (cfreije@cloud.edu). Thank you, and we hope to see you Saturday!
