Two wrestlers associated with Labette Community College and at the time future Hall of Fame Coach Joe Renfro placed in Iowa. 133 lb. Champion Josh Walker, Upper Iowa. He is now a four time AA (LCC, NEO, UI). For Renfro, Walker was third and second at the NJCAA Nationals. 285 lb. Cody Johnson, Colorado-Pueblo placed fourth. At LCC, Johnson was second at 184 for Renfro at the NJCAA Nationals.
There were two other Renfro connected placewinners as well. At 125, Eli Hale, UCO, won the championship and he is the son of NEO President Dr. Jeff Hale. Finally, also for UCO, Caleb Cotter at 285 placed fifth. He wrestled for Renfro at NEO and was an NJCAA All American at 184 lbs.
Walker and Johnson were on NJCAA National Championship team at Labette and Cotter was on a National Championship team at NEO. Coach Renfro is very proud of these men and their accomplishments.
