I would like to give a shout-out Caney Valley for hosting yet another fantastic opening weekend tournament last weekend. In the midst of the 2020 craziness, Caney Valley didn't drop anything, and moved forward with hosting a Varsity, JV and Girls tournament last weekend. Typically they hold all 3 in the same building, on the same day, and pride themselves on getting in some good wrestling and getting families back on the road at a very good hour. This year was no different. JV and Girls were Friday night and with five mats, the tournament went well, safe and got some new kids on the mat for some live wrestling. The Varsity tournament on Saturday also went well, separating weights in different gyms to minimize contact, but utilizing all five surfaces and having teams back on the road by 3:00. All five mats were streamed for parents to watch, and many lessons were learned for the future. Thank you AD Nelson and Coach Rigdon for all you did to get all of our kids on the mat and start this season right.

To all the people who can only find negative things to say, thank you. Your feedback will be used by others who are actually trying to get through this season getting kids on the mat and not just complaining.

If you're ever looking for an early season tournament, I would say you would have to checkout Caney Valley's Kan-Okla in the future.
