Who has never wrestled before high school but is now state bound? I know of Newell from Mankato. Any others?

Newell was an accomplished kid wrestler. Go back and look how many medals he had over the years at Kids State between 1997 and 2001.

I thought that Newell had wrestled kids state but I wasn't completely sure. I was just interested if doing kids federation gave you an advantage. We have a junior high student who had never wrestled before. He had a very good year during the jr. high season but has not had the best of luck in kids. I just wanted to give him a few "names" to give him some encouragement to keep going.

I believe Kenny Aubrey started wrestling as a sophomore. Also, Matt Mahan started as a freshman.

Chad Shahankary is a second year wrestler.

Jermaine Berry in 2000 didn't start till a soph.

Didn't SE have a couple of studs that were new as freshmen?

We find a great deal of those wrestlers in Kansas!
