I prefer the Pizza Taco, but for many years you could only get them in Pratt. If you get the opportunity, go to the Chapeau and have one, with a side of Fish Bowl. Although they are more expensive than they used to be, they are awesome. I think I heard recently that they are now selling them in Wichita. But now, back to the topic, 2011-12 All-Class Rankings!

Ok I have alot to cover first off about the topic I figured I would get a response to my question and I did about y ks does what it does om not taking the state championship from the wrestlers I was just saying if I was one of those state champs would I be satisfied...

I would love to go take a trip around to every school and wrestle with them but im in the military work odd hours and derby high school is close. To my house im sure there are alot of talented kids out there

I respect ks wrestling for the fact I love the sport and glad to see its done more here than TN ..

And for the private school state championship is a freebie compared to the public schools. Private schools automatically get to go to state even if u went 0-32 your going to state and private schools may have only 2 or 3 really good wrestlers in each weight class so odds are alot better to placing then in public schools

As far as the ref goes in 2006 you should remember wrestlers like nic bundy Kellen holliman Kelly felix and Tyler roberson

All in all im for wrestling in general so take what I said however u wanted I only knw what I meant to say

We have 4 state champs per weight class, so technically, only 3 of them should feel bad about being a state champ. Isn't one of them the best?

That's pretty much how it is here only we call it 6A.

Come on sportsfan02, the kids can't help were they live, what school they attend, or what classification they are placed in. There are several though kids in 6A!

I think that you are right on target with this one. All of our wrestlers are looking forward to the free pass. They don't have to put in the work to get to State, they just have to make weight. In many venues, they call this bulletin board material. I don't think our wrestlers have to worry about that. They just have to worry about making weight.

There are a lot of great wrestlers throughout the state, from the 3/2/1A classification up to the 6A classification. For someone to come on this forum and slight one classification for being weak is just pathetic. Maybe they should appreciate that we have some great wrestling across the state, regardless of the size of the community they live in.

Don't you have to use criteria in beating the teams you are ranked a head of?

Racking up a bunch or wins and team points against a stringer of fish doesn't get you anywhere. BTW, we are still waiting on our 3rd place plaque from two years ago.

You have to wrestle someone in your weight class in the state you are ranked in sometime during the current school year in order to recieve a high ranking. Multiple wins over top 10 wrestlers in the state in your weight should have some merit. Or placing higher in a tournament than a ranked opponent.

Please give specific examples. If you are making an accusation of dodging ranked opponents then quit choking on it and just spit it out!

I thought you were referring to team rankings. A pool format to determine individual champions is not a good way to measure team strength. See you guys at the Bobcat. There won't be any need for tackle boxes or stringers at Basehor Linwood HS.

Beating a state runner-up (within the same weight class from the previous year) who beat the guy who is ranked a head of you should have some value in the current year ranking. As well as beating some of the wrestlers from the "most recent top 10" a couple of times. But not wrestling any of the guys this year in the top 10 I do not know what criteria you can use to be deserving of a high ranking. The season has been going for 3 weeks in this state.

Placing 2 spots higher in tournament should also have merit when your not in the top 10 and a wrestler who was at the tournament places 2 spots lower was in the top 10.

Take the bias/friendship stuff out, and objectively look at the results to gain better credability.

All I am saying if you want a good ranking in your state you need to wrestle guys in your weight from your state. Wrestling at or above your seeding in previous tournament is a big consideration.

Take the current top 10 in each weight this year and who did they beat within the top ten right now it is that simple. If you have not wrestled against any top ten wrestlers this year after 3 weeks in your ranked weight it should be consider in the evaluation process.

Sean,

I am totally impressed with Luke this year and would love to have seen a match with Reese at the JCC. Many wrestlers are managing their weight as the season goes on and that's what happened this weekend. Does he have a common over Reese this year? I had meant to congratulate him at the tournament but will state it here. Nice start to the season!
