There are 140 wrestlers being ranked on here and you singled out this pair? I love the rankings and I love promoting the sport but I am having a tough time figuring out what good to either Luke or Reese would come from this post or why it matters to you, another unnamed pot stirrer.

It was a blind shot. They had zero criteria and now that "their" wrestler won, it is not enough to wait till tomorrow's ranking release. It's called bitterness and envy. Kinda sad but not surprising.

??? there are 25 pages of named and unamed people quesstioning the rankings. i find it hard to believe what anyone wrestler gains from the rankings other than PRIDE. Pride that someone has noticed the hard work it takes to be successful.

The rankings are really great, and I think it is awesome that someone takes their time to put them together. They are rankings that we can all observe and try to figure out who is considered to be in the top six. The State Tournament will decide who is in the top six. A lot of things can happen along the way (illness, injury, one wrestler has a bad day, another wrestler peaks at the right time, the moon is full, karma takes a turn for the worst). Wrestle hard, wrestle smart, and good luck to all.

I respectively disagree with Andale being ranked over Newton. We beat them by 60 at Bishop Carroll.I assume that the rationale is that Andale beat Lawrence and Lawrence edged Newton. The good thing is that it will work it self out with Newton and Lawrence facing off this weekend at Blue Valley Northwest and Newton and Andale facing off in two weeks at Garden City. Should be real exciting.

I'm an Andale guy, and was very impressed with Newton's lineup at Carroll. Doesn't seem to be a weak link at any weights. However, I don't know how they stack up against the tougher competition from across the state. I wouldn't put much weight on the Andale/Lawrence points at Maize, as there wasn't a ton of the top tier kids there. Garden City will be another good test for Newton and Andale. Andale did well at Basehor. Looks like Newton held their own at Newton tourney. But you have to realize that the rankings are based on having a Kansas tourney, with every kid from every school in the bracket. How would each school do there? I believe Andale has anywhere from 2-5 kids, that could make the finals in a bracket like that. And we have a few others that would definitely score some points. Newton on the other hand, probably wouldn't have as many finalists, but more "backdoor" kids scoring points. It is beyond me how Chief gets these rankings as accurate as they are, it takes a lot of time. But don't get too riled up over them, cause we'll never really find out who the top point scoring team is, cause we'll never have an all class tourney. I've watched Quinton, Dillon, and McEachern thru the years at the middle school, Schoolboy, and Cadet duals. They've put in the time, and it is paying off now. Good luck at Garden City, it ought to be a whale of a tourney.

How does Lambotte at 145 get 6th place this past weekend at The Bobcat yet only have one loss on his record?

He injury defaulted the last two matches. I don't think those are considered losses.

If that is the case I can take 2 off Bo's record from his So. year! Cool. I never really knew the answer to that.

If a wrestler starts a match and is unable to finish, it is considered a loss. If you never started the match, it is not considered a loss

I'm pretty sure injury defaults count officially as losses, but maybe I'm wrong. Of course, the ranker can, and many would say should, disregard those default loses when doing rankings.

Exactly. The two ID's after he left, do not count toward his match limit.

The 321A rankings and the All-Class rankings are not done by the same ranker.
