Is 321A that weak?

Wrong question. Is 5A and 6A really this strong? It is hard to say. Nothing against Chief, except that the rankings came out too soon ;), but he is just going off of the information he was given from coaches.

1) I know that not all of the coaching staffs responded.

2) The coaches are guessing, I see at least 10 guys that will not be at the weight reported.

3) Kids will move weights for a variety of reasons.

4) I know of at least one kid that should be ranked that is not even on the list. Adam Ayala at 106 or 113 will be in the top 5, he is a freshmen and I'm sure Chief just doesn't know about him,YET!

5) I see kids that are over ranked, maybe just because of name alone. Jake Beeson is one of them...I could name several in the lower weighted freshmen, but I don't want to hurt too many daddy's feeling so early in the season.

6) I see upper classmen that are ranked on last years performance that wont even place this year in their own class.

7) I don't see upperclassmen that performed poorly last year that I guarantee will place this year over ranked opponents.

Chief is doing this for FUN right now. Just not accurate enough without the kids wrestling yet. Give it a few more months, it will change A LOT.

And just because it is for Fun...Here is the Break Down

321A 0 Ranked Teams 12 Ranked Individuals

4A 1 Ranked Team 29 Ranked Individuals

5A 4 Ranked Teams 51 Ranked Individuals

6A 5 Ranked Teams 48 Ranked Individuals

I didn't have time to sort out Teams or Individuals I think Chief has a bias for, sorry smile

I plan to make a few changes to the rankings due to season ending injuries and a wrestler that was overlooked. No changes due to wrestling results in the backyard over the weekend!

Thanks Chief for the great, interesting, informative, very accurate and appropriate (not predictions) rankings, and thanks for your willingness, time and effort.
Most everyone in the wrestling community appreciates them I am sure. And most are already anxious to see them and get the wrestling season kicked off, even though it is just October. I sure am anyway.

I read it as, "Beeson Please Respond" smile At least when I respond it does get some conversation going on the subject.

I'm not bad mouthing Chief by saying the rankings aren't accurate. I think they are as accurate as can be for the information he was given. Problem is he was given a Wish List from the coaches that responded, and not every coach responded. Coach Buckbee told me personally his was a wish list. I can guarantee this is no where close to accurate, but it is fun to look at and wonder.

I would estimate that 85% or more of these wrestlers are at their correct weights. I have already heard of a handful that are different. As we get closer to the release of the KWCA rankings, I will update these.

Best wishes to every one of our Kansas wrestlers!

That just cracked me up Beeson, and yes it certainly does.

We all know Beeson that you are not bad mouthing the Chief, just the rankings, their existence, their function and their accuracy. The proof is in the pudding though. From years past rankings, it is clear they have been very accurate and I am sure they will be again this year. And if not, they will still be great, interesting, informative, appropriate and also enjoyable.

Here's what I find funny. Mr. Beeson, a friend of mine NEVER, posted last year, on HS forum. Now that Jake is in HS division, he has plenty to say. Time will tell the tale, it's only predictions. On the mat is where they will move positions, not on the forum.

Check back to last year...I had plenty to say about the same subject. Just because Jake is now in High School I'm sure I'll post more in the High School section, that's common sense. I'm pretty sure the mat is where I asked for everyone to step before they handed out rankings, you were the one begging for rankings 3 weeks ago.

Based on the comma placement in the opening sentence, I thought he was saying that you were never a friend of his and you posted on the HS forum last year!! grin
