Parents and wrestlers:

Thanks for your patience with the upcoming training schedule information. These past few weeks have all been about USA Kids Nationals and Fargo. Both events are the pinnacle of competition for high school and youth wrestlers and marks the end of the Freestyle and Greco competition season.

It's now back to folkstyle! Hopefully your athletes embrace the Olympic styles as I cannot say enough about the development we see in those wrestlers who train in those disciplines. This season we had 6 Fargo All-Americans, including 1 Junior National Champion and one wrestle who captured AA status in both styles for a total of 7 medals. On the youth end we had 5 USA National Greco AAs and 6 USA National Freestyle AAs. Thus, our club produced 18 AA finishes overall this summer - a club record!!!

What happens now? Well we are going to give athletes and coaches some time off the mat and then begin training for the Preseason Folkstyle events. The plan is to incorporate a strength and conditioning program for the next month so athletes can be getting bigger, stronger and faster while not necessarily wrestling. Our club invested in equipment that will aid in this type of training so we are excited to get this off the ground. We will take this next week off to hit the reset button and then begin the CCT (Champion Crosstraining) on Tuesdays and Thursday's from 6-7:00pm. This will be at Park Hill High School and run from Tuesday, Aug. 2nd until Thursday, Aug. 25th (4 weeks). The cost of this training will be $50. Ages 10 and up.

We will start up the folkstyle semester training on Tuesday, Aug. 30th and that session will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7:30pm and most Sundays from 2-4pm until the start of the high school season which is the first week in November. During competition weekends we may offset a weekday for the Sunday practice. Those will be announced in advance. This will be a 9 week training semester and the cost of the session will be $125 per wrestler and $100 for siblings. If athletes are playing other sports and are only able to make certain practice days work please see me individually for special pricing options.

Wrestlers from any club affiliation are invited to come train with our program and be a part of the sessions offered through our program. We are excited to announce that we will offer a couple of technique clinics coming to Park Hill before the start of the high school and youth season so keep an eye out that information!

Again, thanks for all those who support the club and our mission to help our student athletes reach Greater Heights on and off the mat!
