Is there a picture of what this season might look like coming into view?

I think HIGH SCHOOL season will happen. Although it will probably riddled with quarantine and cancelations like football is fighting now. I asked my AD about the youth programs access to the high school facilities and his round about answer was " I don't know yet". I was also told that kshaa recommendations for winter sports protocols are coming soon. I am gonna guess that 90% of clubs rely on their highschool facilities for practice and or tournaments. I hope we can make this happen this year...those kids that got state ripped away from them the night before the tournament have got to be hungry !!! One point that my club director pointed out is that these youth kids have already been indoors at school on that day of practice any way, and passed a fever check( at least in our district), wore a mask all day at school, so another 2 hrs in the building shouldn't be a big deal ? Any body else like to share their conversations with their school leaders I would love to hear it!

Practices at our school facility look to be a go. Not real confident in bringing in 250 kids and another 750 fans from multiple locations hosting a tournament however. Duals, or other single team competitions like currently football are manageable. Multiple teams/ towns doesnt look promising.

Unfortunately our district is not allowing any youth teams or clubs to use high school facilities due to sanitation protocols in the evenings, so they are actively searching for a new practice location.

The fact that girls are forced to wrestle at state in the middle of the week is laughably sexist.

The Leavenworth school district is also not allowing any outside organizations to use their facilities. So, as of now, we will not be able to operate the Leavenworth Takedown Club, nor host a tournament.

Currently the Olathe School District has the same policy (essentially) as mentioned above...no outside group usage of inside facilities. If that is not altered at some point then Kids tournaments(as well as club practices) inside district schools won't happen this season.

Currently Wichita Public Schools are not allowing any outside rental/usage of facilities. I truly don't know what I am going to do to make wrestling happen for the Falcon Wrestling Club.

So was there anymore clear picture on what the season looks like this year. I heard that a lot of the smaller tournaments at local high schools will not take place.

At the district meeting on Saturday, roughly 1/4 of the club's had no access, about 1/4 of the clubs have access, and about 1/2 of the clubs have not received an answer from their district on whether or not they will have access.

We are having ours Dec. 13 in Hill City. Team trophies, scoring 3 kids per age group. We will limit fan attendance to 1 per athlete to maintain 50% capacity in the facility, but plan to get after it out here.

It will be on track in the near future. Look forward to having you. I set it up yesterday, just need to activate the pre registration.

As of now, Andover's facility requests are approved. I feel like that could change at any moment though. They keep telling me that as long as the kid's are in school, we can use the facilities, but there could be some push back on cleaning procedures from the board. We will do whatever cleaning we need to do though. Large or even medium tournaments are likely a no go. I reached out to one of our AD's about duals, tri's and quad's and I'm waiting to hear back on that. It's possible we could piggy back on a high school dual as well. If we are allowed to host duals, I will be reaching out to area clubs to get matchups going.

Duals would be great give wrestlers mat time and team bonding. WWC would be up for something like that.
